I think they were just test threads in the admin sandbox. I thought originally it was the cosmic bbarr (ugh) but that one was actually later.

On a similar note: the 101 changes through Oxnard also took seeming decades. Widening, completely rebuilding the Oxnard Boulevard junction (now it's a standard junction, previously it was a one-way flyover ramp for southbound only). And it's still not entirely done given that CA-1 has been moved onto Rice Avenue, but not all the signage is up yet. That's something else I first saw changes being done in the late 90s.

You want long? I was working on the podcast episode for the San Bernardino Freeway today. They started work on the El Monte Busway in 1969. They are still working on adding HOV/Express lanes. Phase 2 of the lanes from I-15 to E of Pepper Avenue just got funding; they are still waiting for the Phase 3 funding from Pepper to Redlands.
