Can confirm that there is NO reference to NY 17 being xxx miles away at the intersection of US 11/15 and PA 17 between Harrisburg and Selinsgrove. There is no reference to NY 17 whatsoever there. Any signage that may have existed there has been removed.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Was driving up 11/15 having flown into BWI and noticed the "NY 17" sign had been replaced. I'm pretty sure the one I remembered from the past used the standard FHWA alphabets, so this sign in Clearview would be a replacement.

So as I mentioned in another thread, I think someone confusing this rural two-laner for a freeway with the same number over 130 miles away is pretty far-fetched.

to confirm my understanding of what is going on here: that PA-17 gantry is located over 130 miles away from the NY-17 which is referenced on the green guide sign?

dang.

that is one long trailblazer.

Reading that sign gives the indication that "New York Route" is 17 miles straight ahead.

That's new from my trip in that area earlier this year.

It's not necessarily clear that it's a rural two-laner (rather than a short connecting ramp or some such) until you make the turn. Better to make it clear, unless you own the business on the corner.

And note that until I-86 came along, the part near Erie was a second PA 17.

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".
