What states could these US highway shields come from?

I'm wondering where these shields are from; I've traveled down both of these highways in AZ, NV, and CA (in US-95's case) yet the type on the US-93 is unusually thin compared to what you usually see on US highways, and the US-95 shield is a peculiar cutout. I went Google Maps scouting in ID and MT for a bit and I didn't find anywhere on either of these highways that have these designs. If anyone has an inkling of what state these shields originate from than it would sate my curiosity.

I realize most likely that the above designs don't point to a particular state; but perhaps someone here knows if there's an area that's known for putting them up. Thanks!

That 93 type in Idaho is very, very common. Here's a route segment with a particularly high number of them:

The cutout 95 looks fairly new.  I'm not terribly familiar with signage practices out west, but I believe CalTrans is the only agency consistently using cutout US route markers today, and I believe the pictured design is consistent with what CalTrans does.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

CalTrans signs typically look like esto:

I agree that it's probably from California though- either as the rare BGS shield with an outline around it or an erroneous standalone shield, maybe something like

but different

Since when did US-93 and US-95 go to Arkansas?

The abbreviation for Arizona is AZ.

that 95 is definitely not a California.  '70 spec with cutout form factor as opposed to black square is usually reserved for guide signs.  do you have a photo of the back?  I'd say it's a Nevada was once affixed to a green sign.

the 93 is bog-standard '70 spec.  could be from anywhere, but my guess is Idaho or Nevada.

Once years ago in Somerville, Mass there were a couple US 93 error shields for I-93 that didn't last too long.  Maybe it's one of them.  :P

Probably not, actually--as I recall, the numerals were wider on the error shields than the ones in the pic above.

That '70 cutout isn't bad, actually, but Series D... no. It would look far better with 12'', Series C legend.

I believe it is from Nevada. Some cutouts have been posted within the state in the past, and California is pretty good about using standalone '61 US Route cutouts.

Potentially. However, most green signs in Nevada have the shield printed as part of the sign, and not as a separate shield bolted on.

The only cutout US shield I'm aware of in Nevada was the one on US 93 south at Major's Junction (where US 93 splits from US 6/50), but that one was 100% current CalTrans spec.

not quite. the font on "93" is Series C stretched to D width.
