You can round to the nearest mile or kilometer. First examples: NJ 12 is 12 miles long. NJ 5 is 5 km long. Now you go.

NH 4 is 3.78 miles.

MA 110 barely misses (in kilometers).

I-395 in Baltimore. 395 rounded up is 400, divided by 100 is 4. Take the length in miles (1.33) plus the length in km (2.14) plus the exit number (53) divided by 100 and you get 4.

Not quite what you're looking for, but some people[citation needed] think my avatar-sake (new word! :)) was so numbered because of its length, which is actually ~24 km.

In the states where routes were originally numbered in order of descending length (i.e., SR 1 is the longest highway, SR 2 is the second longest...) you'd be lucky to find more than a couple of these.

Michigan:
M-64 is 64.12 miles.

Wisconsin:
WI 15 is 14.8 miles.
WI 36 is 35.89 miles.

Doesn't look like any Interstates qualify (in total length, maybe we can find one within a state). Closest is I-83 at 85.3 miles.

US 166 is 166 miles.

Except that it's not. You probably looked this up using Wikipedia's List of US Numbered Highways, Robert Droz's us-highways.com, or maybe the numerous places it says this in the US 166 article itself on Wikipedia.

But further down in the US 166 article, there's a table that gives a length of 163.223 miles in Kansas and ~0.6 miles in Missouri. And Google Maps, oddly, tells me it's 164 miles including a detour that should add 2 extra miles.

I also noticed Wikipedia's table of all US routes gives US 319's length as 318 miles - it caught my eye because it was so close. Once again, this matches the number on Robert Droz's site, and once again, it's wrong. It's actually 303.052 miles, according to its own Wikipedia article.

Perhaps it's time to resurrect the Wikipedia thread and bring this up. I wouldn't trust anything but official route logs.

In Québec
-R-131 is 132 kilometres long. Close enough.
-R-133 is 132 kilometres long too.

IA 48 and IA 64, in miles, both fit this thread.

The closest we have is SD 65 at about 68 miles... and that's it.

Not exactly what the thread is looking for, but the remaining segment of US 81 in Texas sneaks in at 81.458 miles.

Closest I can find in Indiana is that IN 54 is 55.17 miles.

Of course I-465 is 465 miles if you get on at eastbound at Exit 27, make 8 complete loops, and then exit at Exit 37.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

On a quick glance it seems that CA-7 at 7 miles (6.718) is the only California route to qualify.

doorknob60

With about 15 minutes of randomly looking around, I couldn't find any in the Northwest. My first random guess at a possibility was OR-138. Turns out it's actually 140.58 mi, very close. Good first guess :D ID-52 is also 54 mi, close again. CA-139 is 141 mi.

The closest one I could find in Upstate NY was NY 34B at 34.03 miles long.  If NY 201 had a decimal point, it would count since it's 2.08 miles long.  NY 690 would also work with a decimal point since it's 6.71 miles long.  I did find a bunch of 3 digit routes that would be at most a mile or two off if they had a decimal point:

I-590, 5.07 mi
NY 590, 4.98 mi
NY 174, 16.7 mi
NY 175, 15.46 mi
NY 370, 35.23 mi
NY 631, 5.05 mi
I-481 and NY 481 together add up to 46.87 mi

CNGL-Leudimin

If we slap a decimal point onto A-1304 (some local road in Northeast Spain), it would come close at 12.8 miles.

By the way, that road is one of my latest clinches :sombrero:.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.
