Here are the Los Angeles Version

I noticed that the Robinsons Department store Brand was once big in the Los Angeles Basin but somehow this Robinsons name was later used in the Philippines.

Some have also Mentioned Longs Drugs was once a Northern California name for Pharmacy Stores but was renamed CVS sometime between 2006-2008.
However CVS Kept the Longs Drugs name in Hawaii.

Where I live there's this chain that's started up here and became a little successful in a few other places. This little store in Bentonville named Walmart.

When I was just a young boy living in the Twin Cities area,  in the mid-80s, I used to frequent a local record store chain called Sound Of Music. It was in a timy building at the intersection of US 12 and County 61 in Minnetonka. One day, the Minnetonka location announced their closing, as the new I-394 was planned to run right through it. But they were going to relocate down the street to an abandoned Best catalog showroom (remember them?). With it came a name change. From that point on, they would be known as Best Buy Superstore. The rest, as they say, is history.

I also lived in California when I was even younger. Longs used to have an ice cream stand where they sold cones at 10¢ a scoop!
