The new DDI interchange in operationally open for MN 101 traffic as of right now with one through lane on the new overpass. This interchange when fully completed will make MN 101 a full freeway from Diamond Lake Rd in Rogers to US 10/169 in Otsego. Those travelling Westbound I-94 to MN 101 north will not encounter an at grade intersection until Otsego thanks to the MN 101 bypass ramp built a few years ago. Now if only MNDOT can build a South 101 to east I-94 flyover then the freeway would be complete .....

Future plans call for US 169 to be reconstructed between US 10 and Zimmerman as a full freeway including a system interchange at US 10 in the distant future: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/projects/169elkriver/background.html ..... Here is what the proposed reconstructed interchange at US 10/169 and MN 101 may look like: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/projects/169elkriver/pdf/conceptA3.pdf

WTH is a "backage" road??
When you come to a fork in the road... TAKE IT.

The opposite of a frontage road?

Must be a Minnesota thing, like DFL and hot dish.

A "backage road" is similar to a frontage road, except that instead of going between adjacent properties and the highway (like a normal frontage road), it goes on the back side of the properties.

A quick search of 'backage road' notes that several other states use the term, including Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, and Montana.
