This intersection makes no sense.

Traffic heading NW on Old Cheney Highway has a delimma. If they continue straight (shallow left), they will be going the wrong way. They would have to make a right U-turn to go the right way. Streetview shows no signage telling drivers what to do.

Do they just expect drivers to psychically know to make a right U-turn?

I would suggest an island that forces a right U-turn.

Old topo's suggest that Commonwealth was not yet divided back when SR 50 went through here.

There needs to be a traffic island in that intersection to point drivers in the correct direction. I wonder how many accidents have happened because someone didn't realize that they shouldn't have gone straight?
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

Agreed on the island and forced right turn, though they would have to acquire part of the property from the homeowner there to do it right.
Most likely it's a low priority because it's a residential area and the neighbors know what's going on.
I wouldn't expect to see anything done until after SR 50 gets widened to six lanes there.

If signage is as it was when the Goog visited, perhaps it's legal to make that shallow left. I doubt there's enough traffic to matter.

This actually reminds me of an intersection here in Huntsville:

There used to be a "No Left Turn" sign facing School Avenue back when Google came through in 2007, but it was later rotated to face Andrew Jackson Way when the original "No Left Turn" sign was removed. I'm not sure if this means that traffic is allowed to turn left from School Avenue onto Dement Street (and go the wrong way on Andrew Jackson Way for a little bit), or if it is still illegal like it was in 2007.
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.
