INDOT "Report a Concern" website

I used this website today to report three sign related issues in Hamilton County (two incorrectly placed "NO PASSING ZONE" signs on SR 38 and a speed limit sign obscured by another sign on SR 37) and was pleased to receive a thank you phone call a few hours later stating the issues would soon be effected.   Thumbs up, INDOT.

INDOT seems to be a "user friendly" transportation dept. Every time I've sent a concern in, I get a reply email within 1 business day, and it's usually corrected a few days after that. I really have no complaints with INDOT.

Kentucky generally tends to respond via email or snail mail, depending on the nature of the complaint.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I almost always get a response when I post questions on their Facebook pages.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%

I wonder how long the reporting service will last, before they get sick of dealing with all the crap comments they're likely to get. Thanks to social media, it seems like most have lost their common sense filter and spout-off about anything.

Wisconsin seems pretty-good at replying, whether via email or Facebook. I occasionally feel bad for whomever has to deal with the comments though. One person griped that the 511 road conditions map wasn't updated fast enough, so they got to work 30-minutes early.

I've never received a response via NJDOT's road reporting system!

Kentucky has, basically, three different ways of contacting KYTC.

There's a general comments form/email link and a "Report A Pothole/Highway Hazard" link on KYTC's site. The general comments forms are forwarded to the chief district engineer and public information officer in the applicable district for action. The "report a pothole" complaints go to specified maintenance personnel in the applicable district.

There's a general public contact email link on each district web page. Most of those are monitored by the PIOs in each district, who respond.

Then there's Facebook. In most of the districts, the PIO is in charge of social media. My policy is that I will respond to direct messages, if only to say that the problem will be forwarded to the appropriate party for action. I tend not to respond to most comments because many of them are just venting or complaining for the sake of complaining.

I take customer/constituent/taxpayer service pretty seriously. I was working for Kentucky's revenue agency at the time we established our online presence, and I was the designated contact person for inquiries that came in over the Internet. We always made it a point to respond.
