Idea: 30 minute pedestrian timers on freeways?

If this were a thing, then everyone would just jaywalk across the freeway all day long.

Only if there is such a thing as eternal life, of course.  Because he's been dead for 139 years.

But yeah, people do stupid things.  I'm just saying that even rational people might think to themselves, If they decided it's safe enough to cross at 1:30, then it must be fairly safe to cross at 1:40 as well.
