I remember something like that happening in Dallas years go.  As I remember, it wasn't as severe.  Something like that might happen if the water poured into the Canyon.  I don't know what kind of drainage it has, and I don't remember if it was even in that area.  On the news, they showed high water rescue crews working on streets in water that wasn't nearly as deep.
