Former US 99, US 466, and CA 65 in Famoso

This past weekend I took a trip to the town site of Famoso in northern Kern County to check out of the original highway alignments of; US Route 99, US Route 466, and California State Route 65.  The original highway alignments through Famoso were substantially different than the modern highway grades seen today.  Sick of constant bad news headlines?...why not take a detour onto some old highways and largely forgotten ghost town.
