The best steak you ever had was at (blank)?

Actually I remember what the best steak I had was, it was on 2/6/2010 at the Coronado Island brewery.  I was hit by a car while I was out running the day before I had just gotten out of the hospital with a broken left arm and some cracked ribs.  I was doped up on pain medicine and couldn't drive anywhere to eat, so I walked to the Coronado Island Brewery.  I had about three IPAs during that meal and they were even nice enough to cut the prime rib for me given my left arm was broken.  I don't know objectively if that was best steak I ever had but that was definitely a slice of heaven amid the circumstances.  I remember leaving something absurd like a $30 dollar tip. 

That's a cool story....not your being hit, but that level of service.

PS. 3 IPAs sounds like awesome pain medicine!😂

I slept like a baby for about twelve hours after I got back to my bed, definitely took the edge off.  But yeah, in my book the circumstances and what they went through to make sure I had a comfortable meal was way more than what I would expected.  And the pride about attempting to cut that steak myself definitely was out the window at that point. 

My boss and I actually ate there two years ago at a conference after I told him the same story.  I thought the food was pretty good but it definitely couldn't live up to 2010.

It's been closed a little more than a year. They had really good food. The catfish was excellent.
