I feel like 104 is asking for an accident, especially at the northern roundabout. Especially at this time of year, you'll want to be careful going too fast. Feel like they need a lower-speed solution.

My opinion on 107 stands as last time, the WB off-ramp from 17 is way too fast and will likely lead to multiple accidents.

The only thing I could guess is they're planning to reconfigure the interchange that would necessitate the bridge being replaced as part of either widening the roadway going over it, or realigning the overpass as part of the interchange reconfiguration.

Probably because it doesn't meet the 16 ft vertical clearance requirement.
Correct. It appears to be 15'-0", according to the Over Height/Over Weight Vehicle Pre-Screening Tool. Further east is another example (that even got hit recently) at NY-17A/NY-207. It was built in 2000 IIRC, but is only 14'-9" high.

This may be somewhat off topic, but also kinda not off topic either, but I found a list of projects projected for the year 2045 for the Binghamton Area called MOVING OUR FUTURE FORWARD 2045. I'll be somewhat old at the time, lol, and it has some long-term NY route 17 projects listed in there, projected for 2045: https://bmtsonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/BMTS-LRTP_Appendices_FINAL2.pdf

MPO long range transportation plans are so...cute.

One thing to keep in mind:

Quote from: BMTSThe    projects    listed    below    represent    anticipated    needs    beyond    what    can    be    programmed    within    a
fiscally    constrained    plan.    These    are    called    "illustrative"    in    federal    law.    These projects    will    be
considered    for    programming,    as    funds    become    available,    with    the    goal    of    moving    the    transportation
system    towards    a    state    of    good    repair,    while    also    taking    all    modes    of    transportation    into
consideration.
In other words, it's a wish list, not a list of projects currently being progressed.

Also... is it just me, or was NY 17 over the Susquehanna River listed twice?

It was listed twice for some odd reason. It's not just you.

Also, I wonder if those listed potential projects are what's needed to bring the remaining sections of the Southern Tier Expressway up to current standards.

17 doesn't cross the Susquehanna more than once?

Well, I did forget about the Windsor crossing and the Waverly one is outside the BMTS area... but for this list, one project says Endwell, and the other specifies the BINs for the Endwell crossing.
