If you're looking to be entertained by the travels and antics of a certain YouTuber, here you go:

Jeff Favignano's American Truck Simulator Playlist (currently over 300 videos)

His running commentary is always entertaining, plus his take on the worst drivers is hilarious and spot on!

I don't know exactly when it is, but apparently this game and the related Euro Truck Simulator are going to be ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. What remains to be seen is how the base games will look like, either starting out the same way the PC versions did, or including everything that's already there (such as states/countries, vehicles, companies, etc.), with future additions being concurrent with the DLCs on PC. Either way, this is exciting news for console owners who can't afford a desktop at the moment but still want to feel the thrill of driving an 18-wheeler cross-country/continent; plus Sony and Microsoft have both games available as wishlist items on their respective consoles' websites.

This is going to be an exciting addition to the game! They're probably going to go from west to east with the Canadian provinces, like they're doing with the US right now. AK and HI, plus at least the Yukon would be nice to have, and the road trip packs do sound nice, as they can let you drive your favorite cars across the country from the comfort of your own home.

I saw a Youtube video that suggested American Truck Simulator's map scale might have some problems with the smaller eastern states. I've never played ATS, but if that is the case, I wonder how they'll address it? Could the scale change the further east you go, like a sideways Mercator projection?

They could maybe divide the map into small-scale (most of the country) and large-scale (Washington to Boston corridor) sections, and use some trickery to make the transition appear seamless in the game.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

Now I'm imagining I-79 being part of the fastest way from Boston to DC.

The European version of the game has a similar map scale, I believe, and while I haven't played it they do appear to have worked in the smaller European countries. I imagine the eastern states will be similar to those.

Sure, I can see them cheat the scale just to make the Eastern US doable. Same with the Maritime provinces of Canada whenever they get around to doing that part. The other six provinces (BC, AB, SK, MB, ON and QC) are pretty comparable in size, so no change of scale will be needed for them. But as it's said before, time will tell...

It's not actually the size of the states that's at issue, it's the proportion of urban vs rural areas. In ATS, rural areas are at 1:20 scale while urban areas are at more like 1:3 scale. If they did all the east coast urban areas at the larger scale, they wouldn't all fit unless the east coast is overall much much larger than the western side of the map.

The video I mentioned was specifically addressing how ATS would fit the Northeast Corridor, especially the New York metro.
