After I-84 gets new exit numbers as part of their sign replacement project, I-91 will be next on the list, and the new exit numbers are shown on the map.

I guess that it's just I-95 that's left at this point...
Don't forget US 7.
Well, at least CTDOT's consistent. As with most of their exit renumbering projects, there are a couple routes that get 2 different numbers. For I-91 South, CT 9 North will be Exit 27, while CT 9 South will be 28, CT 3 North will be Exit 33, while for CT 3 South it will be 34 A. Approaching I-95 at the southern end you will get Exits 1 E-A. The I-95 exits will be 1 C and A.

Quote from: The Ghostbuster on November 22, 2025, 09:49:29 PMMaybe CT 20's exits won't be numbered.

If they numbered routes like CT 349, SR 695, and the Milford Parkway, why would they not number CT 20?  It'll probably be part of I-91 renumbering

Here's how they might look

Exit 28A: BDL
Exit 28B: Hamilton Rd
Exit 29: CT 75
Exit 30: Old Country/Kennedy Rd
Exit 31A-B (EB only): I-91
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

If they were going to do it as part of the I-91 renumbering, wouldn't it be on the map already with the I-91 numbers?

Will the Whitehead Highway get exit numbers?

The Ghostbuster

If it does, Columbus Blvd. would be Exit 1C and Prospect St. would be Exit 1D (if the Interstate 91 interchange gets numbers as well). Otherwise, they would be 1A and 1B.

I also thought the Hartford section of CT 15 would be included in the renumbering.  Apparently not.

It got mile markers on 7 November.

Quote from: The Ghostbuster on November 22, 2025, 05:32:59 PMUS 7 has never had a renumbering date. Maybe the southern portion will be renumbered with Interstate 95, and the northern portion with Interstate 84. It's also possible US 7's exits won't be renumbered at all.
I would suspect that US-7 exit renumbering would be lumped in with I-84 and I-95. Guessing that Route 20 would be included with I-91, as these are all relatively short segments and can be completed rather quickly and with little added cost to the overall contracts for the three major interstates.
2-d Interstates traveled:  4, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29, 35, 39, 40, 41, 43, 45, 49, 55, 57, 64, 65, 66, 69, 70, 71, 72, 74, 75, 76(E), 77, 78, 81, 83, 84(W), 85, 87(N), 89, 90, 91, 93, 94, 95

2-d Interstates Clinched:  12, 22, 30, 37, 44, 59, 80, 84(E), 86(E), 238, H1, H2, H3, H201

Someone on Facebook posted about the recent exit number changes on the Merit Parkway.   The OP thought it was a waste of time and money, but many commented to this person about the fact mileage based exit numbers are now preferred over sequential.

However I'm convinced it was a non road geek who dont know diddly about exit numbers in the first place let alone knowing that the new numbers are milebased.

Some users here would have crucified that poster.

If there was any roadway that needed exit renumbering, it was the entirety of CT 15. The exits should have started at Exit 1, not Exit 27 (I know the Hutchinson River Parkway's last exit number once was Exit 26). Now that the numbers start at the state line, they make more sense. Plus, the Facebook poster is full of shit.

... now they just need to do the rest of Route 15.  It needs mile markers posted as well to make the mileage-based numbers make sense.

It's unfortunate that the remainder of CT 15 and US 7 seem to have been forgotten about with the conversion (and CT 20, although as it doesn't currently have exit numbers, it's not really an issue).

CTDot has a page too dedicated to the new numbers that would come up on search engines. So even a non road geek can research.
