St. Paul's Avenue Viaduct in New Jersey

I cannot tell on google, but wondering if the St. Paul's Avenue viaduct on US 1 & 9 Truck in Jersey City, NJ is finally completed?  I see that this structure is more up to modern freeway standards than the Pulaski Skyway next to it spite the Skyway is freeway and US 1& 9 Truck is a surface artery.

I know that the Pulaski Skyway is a registered landmark and cannot be modernized and the current traffic count demands more of a freeway for US 1 & 9 Truck that is not a registered landmark and can be easily replaced.  I have no question there, but just wondering where the progress is of that project and has anyone yet been on it or have anything to report.

It has been a few years they have been working on it, and it should not take this long, but then again it was on the replacement list for decades.  When I was living in NJ in the 80's it was mentioned in the top ten of needing replacement then along with the Elizabeth River Viaduct in Elizabeth several miles to the south here and many others that are now replaced.  Anything is possible like here in FL it is in month 5 and the landscaped median on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando is still not completed and all they did was add islands where the old center turn lane was.  I know NJ is broke as well, hence why Northwest NJ cannot get freeways or road widenings or US 9 south of Lakewood.

I found out easily using Google: http://www.state.nj.us/transportation/about/press/2011/082711p.shtm

I know that, but I have learned over time you cannot totally trust the DOT.  I was just wondering if someone has traveled it since and what their opinion is on the subject.  I like to hear from other sources as well.

Nearly, I can tell by your link, it is somewhere in the final stages I think, cause the page you had was so last year.

Lots of work left to be done. I went through it sometimes on a recent commute between the Bronx and Staten Island (never do that again, but that's another story). The current Google imagery is not too far behind ground conditions now.

There is still about 8 months of construction or so left on the project, mostly on the ramps over the Tonnele Circle to/from the Skyway.  The viaduct itself is open in both directions (so that 1&9T traffic can bypass the circle altogether), but final traffic patterns are not in place yet pending this work.

Pretty substantial amount of construction work for what amounts to a bridge replacement project . . .

Yeah, in Florida where the weather is warm all year round, we have projects that last the same amount of time  as in the other 48 states where Winter stops work in cold months.

We have a simple project pending now. It is going on 5 months for a median placement on one three mile stretch of highway that had a center turn lane.
