Bing Maps: "Branch" and "Blvd" highways

On Bing Maps, for some business highways it shows a shield with "Branch" above it.  On some business loops, it says "Blvd."  Look up Joplin, MO or Sallisaw, OK for examples.  I guess the program interprets "BR" as "branch" and "BL" as "blvd."

I noticed something similar in Google Maps a while back...it seemed to expand "TR 17" (as in "Township Road 17") to "Trail 17"

The original TIGER data itself has some errors of this sort - County Road becomes Cord or Creek.

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

On Google maps, I have seen "Road N" identified as "Road North" and "Road S" identified as "Road South". On a GPS unit, I once heard NE Hwy. 2 identified in verbal directions as "Northeast Highway 2".

Sometimes my GPS will read Oregon state routes as the word "or", like "turn right on or 22" :P Sometimes it reads it fine as "Oregon" though, not sure why it's inconsistent about that.

This is just a guess, but perhaps some are entered in the map data as "Or" and others are "OR"?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what it is, trying to recall what the text output showed. It must be that, still pretty funny though, you'd think Garmin (or their map data provider, not sure who that is) would have caught that :P Now that I think about it, it's done it in other states too, like "take exit, on right, to CA ("see ay") 91" haha.

I saw this error before. I've seen Branch all over PA in places like Bus. US 1 in Bucks County, and Bus. US 222 and 422 in Reading.

I've only seen Blvd. on Bus. I-376 around the Pittsburgh Airport. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that it's an Interstate... (They also don't show the southeastern part of it as a freeway... :banghead:)
Mileage-based exit numbering implies the existence of mileage-cringe exit numbering.
