Old or interesting signs still standing in SW CT / Westchester County NY?

I'm going to be in Fairfield County in early autumn and will have a little time for photography. I'm looking for any instances of old or interesting signs in the wild that are still standing. Such as:

* old "CONN." route markers; example: http://goo.gl/maps/8CuS (Conn. 17 at end of I-91 exit 7 SB ramp)
* CT state outline markers; example: www.aaroads.com/shields/show.php?image=CT19571231 (CT 123 photo, Michael Summa, 1975)
* sign goofs; example: http://goo.gl/maps/v3WB (CT 120A, Merritt Parkway exit, state line)
* old signs left standing after route is deleted or moved. Imagine a CT 105 sign that was somehow forgotten for 50 years; that would be awesome.

Also collecting some routes in Westchester along I-287 corridor between I-95 and Hudson River, e.g. http://goo.gl/maps/aUQE

Thanks for any tips you might have!

I believe this 138 is still around.

it's off the 395 on Slater Ave northbound.

I just plain forget where this 184 is, but it too is around as of April, 2008.

The CT Route 184 sign has to be either Groton or North Stonington.

Check off the exits in Greenwich off the Merritt.  I remember seeing a one-of-a-kind sign assembly there with state outline 15 shields with MERRITT PARKWAY in the shield, topped off with a pair of black-on-white directional signs for "NEW YORK" and "NEW HAVEN".  I want to say it was off Den Road.  It's been a few years since I've worked down there (04-05) so it all could have been replaced by now, but there were some gems hidden off those Greenwich exits.

And as far as I know, the signs on CT 25 from the Merritt to the end of expressway are still the original early 80s installations.  Some jumbo-sized route markers there too IIRC.

The intersection of Roxbury and Westover Roads in Stamford has these signs...

Den Rd. is correct. Also, CT 137 SB entering Stamford has a CONN. NY has a pair of old embossed signs: 127 at Park Ave outside Rye, and ... umm... crap. Paging Doug and Anthony.

P.S. I hope AARoads credited their grab of my photo! (I assume they did.)

Here are some sign goofs I'm come across over the years in the area that you're talking about.  There are pictures of all of them on my site at http://www.greaternyroads.info.

* On NY 22 southbound in White Plains, a little bit north of I-287, an overhead sign for US 22, which should be NY 22.
* On CT 110 northbound between Stratford and Shelton, there's a shield for US 8, which should be CT 8.
* On CT 34 eastbound in Orange, at the northern terminus on CT 152, there a TO CT 1 shield that should be TO US 1.

As seen in my avatar.

Though, it's not entering Stamford. It's just south of the Merritt, at Dunn Ave.

There's another 15 at Bridge St and Riverside Ave in Westport.

The 25 on Park St in Trumbull was found damaged last summer and is probably gone by now, but you can look. The rectangles on the button copy BGS should still be there, at least.

The one other ancient shield in Westchester County that jumps to mind is the 9/9A combo on Prospect St in Yonkers. Last time I saw it it'd lost a bolt and the 9 was hanging upside down.

I seem to recall there being a pretty old 22 somewhere between the Cross County and White Plains (northbound), but I couldn't say exactly where.

ETA: There's also an old square CONN. 17 at the bottom of I-91 SB exit 7 in New Haven.

And if you go to The Bronx, there's also this goofy goof at Gun Hill Rd and Boston Rd:
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

Not sure if the signs were removed, or if they are still around, but there should be old Connecticut Turnpike and New England Thruway shields on East Lincoln Avenue in Mount Vernon, NY.

Other than that, some of the other old signs in the area have been mentioned.  I can also check to see what I have in my own files at home (I am not at home right now), to see what other photo opportunities can be had.

The 184 is at Bridge and Fairview in Groton. Unfortunately, the 138 sign has been replaced.
