Potential sale of collection Thomas Bros maps

Hello all,
   I am thinking of putting my collection of Thomas Bros maps up for sale and would appreciate suggestions, comments, feedback, etc. on the best way to go about it. I have a collection of roughly 250 book atlases mainly from 1984 to the final run in 2007. I have a few (maybe 4) older atlases from the 1970's. The collection includes all of the states and counties covered by Thomas Bros. My questions would be:

* Should I break up the orders or would it be better to sell as one big entire lot
* I was thinking of putting the collection of for bid on eBay, is this the best way to get my moneys worth or do you have better suggestions
* For those interested in the collection, how much notice would you want of when the collection is listed

I appreciate any ideas you might have to help me with this. Unemployment has hit my family hard and unfortunately I need to get rid of my collection but would like to get as much as possible for it to help pay bills, groceries and have a Thanksgiving and Christmas for the family.
