AR: New exit along I 40
« on: September 24, 2014, 09:36:27 PM »

I've been traveling 40 between NLR and Memphis and noticed a new or possibly a complete rebuild of a road with access to the interstate. I'm guessing its either going to be exit 173 or 174. Anybody have any idea about this project.

Just added the state name to the topic line for ya so people knew what section of I-40 you were referencing. ;)

I can't find the original post, but it's a new exit for AR 89: it currently crosses 40, but will now have an exit to provide improved access to Lonoke. Should be finished later this year, I think.

Here is AHTD's post about the interchange. I assume AHTD meant early 2015, but IDriveArkansas is currently projecting Late 2014.

Anyone knows when the new interchange at mm 132 on 40 near Maumelle supposed to be completed. My phone won't let me scroll through the description.

Don't you mean mm 142? As I recall, mm 132 is between Mayflower and Conway.

There is a new exit being built at MM 132:

(Form idrivearkansas)
Project Name: Conway South Interchange-Hwy. 365 (Grading & Strs.)
Length: 0.8 Miles
Location: Mile Marker 132.3 - 133.1
Est. Completion: Mid 2015
The purpose of this project is to construct the embankment and overpass bridges for an interchange with State Highway 365 on Interstate 40 in Faulkner County.

I was unaware of that construction project. My apologies. It's just that when you mentioned Maumelle, I was thinking of Exit 142.

The new AR 89 interchange (exit 173) is now open with a blank advisory speed sign.

Any word on an exit number for the soon-to-be new South Conway exit?

131 or 132 is my guess. Last I looked, they were getting ready to pave the ramps

Given the milepost location in the project description above, it should be exit 132.
