Can't recall seeing them in Washington except on rare occasions, such as here along I-705 in Tacoma (Northbound at Stadium Way):

Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Pretty elaborate one - NY 33 & NY 198 Buffalo, NY

Judging from the amount of impact barrels, they must have plenty of drivers veer off and miss both roadways.

Yep. Happens several times each winter.

Perhaps people are trying to merge into the exit lane, but are hesitating because of the lengthy white line? (Hesitating enough that they merge over only at the last second because they realize they won't get another set of dashed lines).

Ice and snow. It's at a sharp curve. People brake for the curve and slide into the gore.

Exits 6 and 7 have them in both directions. Exit 14 has them NB. There are quite a few others in Buffalo.

In NJ, although part of the DRPA's jurisdiction.
I find the bare "thank you" here odd. It's not clear what the DRPA is thanking you for. If it's for using their bridge, it usually says as much. Maybe for ignoring the weird 3-digit exit number?

Here's the opposing signage...welcoming you to the Walt Whitman Bridge.  https://goo.gl/maps/KZfzoCxjSb72

So much toll money they don't know what to do with it apparently...

I was going along with Jovet's train of thought, that flashing green has no meaning in the US. He didn't specifically say at traffic lights, but I expanded on that thought nonetheless.

Just be warned, my trains of thought typically derail.   :spin:

I like this one. It's hard to see on GSV but there are sequential flashers along the chevrons on both sides that flash outward from the point. As mentioned before, the problem isn't failure to see the rocks. Its loss of traction, which flashers won't help :)

Alright, this is how it's gonna be!

There is a flasher inside the curb on Iowa St at the ramp to Northbound I-5 in Bellingham, WA. It's really hard to see, but I promise it's there:

Very unique placement. The only other time I see flashing lights (that low) are at crosswalks with embedded LEDs in the pavement.

I want to say there used to be a few places around Akron, OH that used those as well at some of their intersections.  There used to be "islands" that used the flashing flights at ground level as well as concrete poles with alternating flashing lanterns on them at the corners of the island.  They would only been in operation in the evenings and early mornings, but when they were on, it was cool to see the light show!

Some lasted into the 80s before they were removed altogether.

Southbound I-35 at Southwest Trafficway has flashing yellow arrows

It looks like the arrows have been replaced with circular yellow lights.  I imagine this was done around the time MODOT started using APL signage here.
