I was randomly browsing weather in different locations, and saw that the high on Sunday in Oklahoma City is 72, and the low is 36. Is that normal for this time of year in that area? That's going from summer to winter weather in a matter of 12 hours.

It feels like winter has come early this year. We've had a couple mornings with light snow and frost this week. Tuesday is forecasted to be -6/-15C (21/5F)!

I'd defer to Scott on Oklahoma City specifically.
However, I will say that temperature swings like that happen almost every day/night in the desert. It wouldn't be uncommon to be over 100 degrees during mid-afternoon and below 50 degrees by early morning. Even around here, going from 72 to 36 within 24 hours wouldn't be unheard of. Yes, but isn't making it specific to your own location part of what makes it?

I mean, if you think adding your location to an old and tired joke is what "makes it," then go for it.

Denver probably takes the cake as far as the most brutal diurnal temperature range. But more Western cities have wider temperature ranges than east coast cities, at least in my experience. DC in the summer, for example, can still be brutally warm at night. Even the hottest days in Seattle (upper 90s) will see temps into the low 60s at night, often 50s. Los Angeles sees similar ranges. Accompanying that, any humidity will disappear after the sun sets. Visiting Disneyland in July, you'd be foolish not to bring a light jacket at night. Once that sun dips below the horizon, temperatures will start dropping. Fast.

It is not unusual anywhere in the Plains states at this time of year.  Temperature drops that large are usually associated with a cold front coming through.

No snow for the Connecticut River Valley yet. There were some areas to my north and west which had some wet flakes a few nights ago. Friday was windy and cold for November standards. It was quite windy and only about 36. Today it's maybe 2/3 clouds and 1/3 sun. A breeze at times, but up to at least 50 degrees. The normal for south of Hartford on November 10th is roughly 53 degrees. Some January-like cold nights are on tap for mid-week. :(

The wind chill will drop below zero Monday night. That's great.

Forecast at one point was for 6-10" of snow today.  Nothing much accumulated so far and is more icy now than snow (as of 5 pm or so).

Here in Atlanta, it's been quite warm today with highs in the upper 60s, but that's all coming to an end as a cold front makes its way into the area overnight. Unfortunately it's still too warm for anything frozen, so we're just going to get some cold rain although the north GA mountains could well see some ice and/or snow.

There's also a wind advisory for tomorrow afternoon, and then we drop into the mid to low 20s tomorrow night with wind chills likely in the teens.

It was in the upper 60s, almost 70°, today. Tomorrow’s temperatures....

That seems really chilly for Atlanta. Best of luck to not freeze  :sombrero:

It was 77 in Denver on Saturday (new record), even mid 60s on Sunday afternoon, then freezing drizzle overnight (there has been a lot of that already...we don't normally get the freezing drizzle) then snow Monday morning. The high on Monday was around freezing, then yesterday was back in the 50s.

We ride a roller coaster here.

Temps in the 20s aren't unheard of here, and usually happen at least a few times every winter. The first half of November is just a touch on the early side, though it looks like we did manage to stay a couple degrees above the record low this morning.

Only got up to about 45 or so today despite sunny skies; we've stabilized right around freezing at the moment, and with clouds expected to build in by morning we'll probably maintain about 30ish. Potential for some cold rain tomorrow, but staying too warm to develop into anything else.
