Funny how half the entries lately are from corco, yet he's not even on the scorecard.  That's just unfair!

Looks like a robust well from which to draw some harder-to-find photos.

You should get a blue star next to your name on the list, at least.  To me, that's the true spirit of the thread, but we never would have made it this far without sampling other roadgeeks' sites.

Who came up with that weight limit? (While this may not matter, 58420 = 2*2*5*23*127, and it's not a conversion from kilograms (26500 kg)).

It's quite close to 26,500 kilos. While I'm not an expert, this might be an indicator:

I was thinking of going through and crediting the actual sources of the photos posted.  That was actually kind of the point of this thread...so we can introduce each other to great sources of roadgeek imagery.  Jim, corco, and okroads get huge props, among many others.  It's just that, if I were to do that...I'd have over 900 photos to look through now v_v

From some sketchy web forum...

Quote from: Sykotyk on October 01, 2009, 04:15:34 PM
Apparantly when most of these roads were first being paved, 58,420 was a standard GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), so it was made a standard weight rating for the roads (just like most roads now have an 80,000 GVW).

I cannot underscore how helpful this Texas Farm/Ranch Roads site will be going forward. It provided this 920:

From that Texas Farm/Ranch roads site.

Should mention that we can use the site up until 986 (well, there's a missing number, but I'm sure we can cover it) to 999. At 1000 we can then use it again.
