AK 98, in downtown Skagway.
Alaska has a 98!?  Is that real!?

Why have there been no error signs yet in this thread?

Here you go, photographed by me way back in 2000:

US 104?  Where did this sign come from?  Is it the NY-104 that used to be US104 way back in the day?

Linking to original places to cite your sources is a good thing...It gives me more websites to peruse  :sombrero:

Unfortunately I have like 4 113's photographed but no 112's...so I can't participate quite yet T_T

Yes. Downtown Baton Rouge. Took it myself.

Alaska has a 98!?  Is that real!?

It's real, but I don't think it is signed anywhere outside of Skagway. My wife and I honeymooned in Alaska two years ago. We stopped in Skagway and took a bus into Canada. I don't recall seeing any AK 98 signs.

Judging by the posted pictures of Teresco's Alaska Trip, yes, it's the "route of 1898" http://www.teresco.org/pics/alaska-20010606-30/23-skagway.html
His pictures of the Whitehorse to Skagway part of the road trip don't show any 98 reassurance markers, though: http://www.teresco.org/pics/alaska-20010606-30/23-border.html

I'm really bad at picking up on when people pick up on things like that...  I should have known by the sombrero.

By the way, I'm so bummed I missed out on the 80s through the 100s, because now I'm stuck for quite a while without any pictures to post.

I couldn't think of a clever way to make my statement while adding to the joke somehow...so I just said stuff lol.

Still looking for a 112!

Both the route and the sign are for real. I photographed the sign in 2012.

After driving the entire route between the ferry terminal and the border in both directions, I'm pretty sure that was the only AK 98 marker posted. Alaska DOT&PF is pretty conservative about posting route markers, so the only surprise was that I was able to find any route marker at all.

It feels very frustrating when you feel as if you have a numbered sign, but you don't. I have a 108, 109, 110, 111, AND a 113, but no 112!  :ded: :banghead:

If they would completely limit the access to the approach from I-12 to the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, it would be a candidate for Interstate 112.

Usually, I could fall back on my Illinois state route collection which has a photo for every last highway in the state, but IL has no 112!  Neither does Indiana or Michigan!  I have to go to the northern tip of Wisconsin, Southwest corner of Missouri, or southwest corner of Minnesota to get a 112.  I'm frustrated because I almost got a NH-112 photo last October but decided to skip it.  Washington has a good 112 too.

This thread needs a hero!  :)

You asked?  :sombrero:

I'd have to go about 45 minutes north to catch CT 112 and 45 minutes south with a ferry, and 2 hours or more without one, to catch NY 112.

Doesn't the beginning of the thread stipulate it can't be a photo from a roadgeek site?  I'd be posting all day long if it were.  We'd be up to something like 999 by now.

Nope.  https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=17783.msg2138197#msg2138197

It takes some of the fun out of the game, but it's not against the rules set forth.

Posting all day long, however, would be against the rules.

Thanks for letting us continue!  Here's some big blocky Massholery.  I guess it's enough to ask to see a standalone shield for a Massachusetts State Route.
