UPDATE:  HOLY CRAP I FOUND ONE...but it's not a BGS -_-

Wow, good enough for me, who cares if it's not a BGS.  Great find.

This BGS meets the second criterion...

Here's an example, where white-on-blue or white-on-green color schemes have been re-cast to reflect the location within the Adirondack Park, where a yellow-on-brown color scheme is used. (Interestingly, the mileage sign is unaltered white-on-green.)

Despite a few missing letters, this was south of Jacksonville along I-95:

Ahh, the infamous "Flordia" sign. I was wondering if they would ever get around to fixing that.

Picher, OK, is a former mining town that has been forcibly abandoned by the government due to environmental and health hazards.  This abandonment is fairly recent, so much so that GSV at one time was able to capture all the different streets in town, back in 2008.  You can see all the existing buildings in GSV on the side streets in town.

The latest GSV run was in 2016, and as far as I can tell, only covers the main drag of US 69.  Many streets are blocked off.  One that isn't is 4th St.  You can see that it has red street blades.  I'm wondering if this intentional and for what reason.

I've seen red street blades, but can't remember off the top of my head where.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

In my area, private roads are marked with green-on-white street blades, the inverse of those used for public ones.

I know that North Aurora, Illinois, uses them.

An inspiration for this Challenge was a yellow-on-blue street blade, made to match (and mounted with) a county pentagon marker. Anybody got a photo of that?

Here's a pair of them, this time at the Putnam/Dutchess County line:

And since it is, as yet, unanswered, yesterday's challenge remains open as well, until an answer is submitted:

In Des Moines, 51st St crosses the dividing line between north and south, becoming SW 51st St on the south side of the line. Because there isn't a cross street there, this is what the city put up:

There's also several streets that loop around, such as SW 39th St looping 180 degrees to become SW 40th St on the other side:

And one of my favorite Des Moines street names, Druid Hill Dr, loops around to become the lame Pleasant View Dr:

Michael

I keep forgetting about this thread.  It's a cool idea!  Anyway, the first street blade that came to mind was this local one at the Cayuga/Wayne county line.  Another local one is this one in Port Byron at the north/west end of the NY 31/NY 38 duplex.

I wasn't even thinking of streets that change names at a turn until seeing the last picture in the previous post.  There's a bunch of these in my hometown of Weedsport:
Green St/North Willow St
South Willow St/Lockwood Ave
Basin St/Marshall St
Highland Ave/East Terrace St
Washington St/Cool St
Cool St/Lincoln St

I know I posted this photo several challenges back, however this photo definitely meets today's criteria.  This street blade marks the WV/PA border along the old National Pike in West Alexander, PA.

Not sure if signs in my sign collection count, but I'll post this picture anyway because they are definitely the oldest signs I have photographed: two original 1920s/30s Minnesota trunk highway markers

I have no way to know the age of almost any of the signs I've photographed, but this one looks old, at least.  I can delete the post if the rule is that we need to be more sure of it being our own oldest sign photographed, or if this is in some other way not in the spirit of today's challenge.

This was taken in Washington, DC, taken on May 27, 2000.
