Here is an update on the Cebu Cordova bridge. It's the equivalent of the 2013 San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge under construction prior to its opening.

Lighting now installed on the Skyway Stage 3!  A very very interesting contrast to how California has left much freeway lighting turned off in the last year and a half.

Saw this article on the expressway system and the map included mentions the "C-3 Missing Link" project...

https://businessmirror.com.ph/2020/11/26/luzon-spine-expressway-network-program-on-track-for-completion-amid-pandemic/

http://Turns out this is a plan for an east-west expressway from Mall of Asia in Pasay, through northern Makati near the Circuit mall, and finally to Skyway Stage 3 near Santa Mesa - with two seperate alignment plans in existence, one from the DPWH, and one from Ayala Land (the main developer of the city of Makati, and owner of the Circuit mall).

(The proposed corridor essentially is some combination of either Chino Roces Avenue (Pasong Tamo) to Buendia Avenue, or South Avenue to Buendia Avenue;  some of which is covered by the proposed Buendia Avenue expressway that would be part of SMC's New Manila International Airport infrastructure concepts)

This project shares elements with the canceled Skybridge proposal from earlier in the last decade (the San Juan River portion of Skyway Stage 3 essentially supplanted the northern part of the Skybridge alignment) as seen in this 2011 map:

Photos from the upcoming north terminus of the Skyway, between the Camachile Flyover off of NLEX and the NLEX Balintawak toll plaza.  Precast supports already in place for a future north extension of the Metro Manila Skyway to New Manila International Airport in Bulacan.

About seven miles south in Manila's Tondo district is the PNR rail right of way that will be used by the NLEX Connector expressway in the coming months.  Some clearance of existing residents will be required along the corridor:

Wow the freeway construction in the Philippines is happening at a fast pace. It will be interesting to see how many jobs will spread out to the provinces within 20-30 year period.

There is a saying in the Philippines called "Imperial Manila" its referring to how the Philippines is very dependent on Manila for government and economic reasons. The issue is about how centralized the NCR is and how income inequality is effecting the country.  I can understand why there has been a push to put more freeways in the Philippines and its in relation to spreading goods and services outside on Manila.

One notable aspect of the Skyway Stage 3 extension (as seen in this video) is the prevalence of brand-new left exits in Quezon City, presumably to use as little right-of-way as possible compared to having all the ramps come off from the right sides of the carriageways.
