I-39

I see they are going to go to begin work soon on Phase 4 in MO and the second part of Corning to the state line segment in Arkansas, thus, connecting future I-57 at the state line. Smart move, getting the difficult part out of the way so all future work is purely internal AR/MO issues.

My question is when will MO start work on Phase 3 including the interchange in Neelyville? Wouldn't make sense to have a gap in the four lane through Neelyville.

I see I-57 is now signed along I-40 near Little Rock.  Not to mention no longer signing the US routes previously signed here.

Hopefully IDOT will change Memphis to Little Rock. :bigass:

The junction with I-40 has been signed for awhile. I just wish AR DOT would have done a better job with the design work. One sign has a big Interstate shield and the panel next to it has a tiny Interstate shield. Random looking crap.

US 63 SB has SB US 67 replaced with I-57 last year.  No doubt the current segment end hence US 67 NB is still signed.

However, it looks interesting to see those two opposite each other.

I would also like to point out that Interstate 57 doesn't have an Exit 63. Not in Arkansas, and not in Illinois. It's uncertain whether Missouri will have one, though.

Exit 63 is at the Dan Ryan southbound split where I-94 goes off to Indiana and I-57 begins. This is what I modeled the BGS mockup after.

I think if Illinois was going to add a second control city for I-57 at the I-94 interchange, they would add Champaign.

I also still have doubts Illinois is going to change the control city from Memphis.

The Chicago area also already has a currently unincorporated town of Little Rock (which could incorporate if Kendall County keeps growing).

roadman65

I've seen other places on interstates that took years to amend control cities to fit the current freeway alignment.  NJ is still just getting around to adding Philly as a control city on its turnpike and Boonton still exists on I-287 Northbound in a few places instead of Mahwah.

Probably be about twenty years after the missing I-57 link is totally complete, it will all be updated.

I drove through the area yesterday (picking up brother at the airport) and this is what I saw: In Jacksonville, the northbound lanes are largely completed. The new Vandenburg Blvd. overpass bridge is currently being constructed and there is still asphalt base just north of the bridge that still needs concrete.
Over by Cabot, the northbound lanes are coming at a good clip. Due to the very dry winter we had, construction is ahead of schedule for both projects.

There is a Littlerock, CA (one word) that got a shout-out from Wolfman Jack in "American Graffiti." It's actually in Los Angeles County but on the other side of the San Gabiriel Mountains, so it might as well be a Bakersfield suburb.

Join us on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. for a groundbreaking celebration to mark the beginning of a project set to improve the Highway 5/Interstate 57 interchange in Cabot.

$53.9 million project that should take two years to complete. Estimated completion date is mid-2028.

That northbound interstate exit to Hwy 5 in Cabot, dumping out so close to Hwy 367(2nd St) is one of the dumbest designs I've seen.  I'd bet it has the highest accident rate in the county.

What the fuck are you talking about? I see a traffic light controlling the ramp.

I've long wondered if a simple slip ramp south of Ace Liquor and/or a full Coffelt Crossing interchange would help with the Cabot-bound traffic, in combination with making the northbound frontage road one-way northbound in both lanes.

I rarely ever take this exit now but I believe that signal works in conjunction with the 2nd Street signal too.

Don't usually see too many SPUIs being built lately, since the DDI craze began. ARDOT is going SPUI here - a Freeway under SPUI overpass SPUI even
