Don't count your birds before they hatch!

Though 4 touchdowns and 5 other points (extra points) in a quarter without response is a tall ask.

Once into opposition territory, one TD is a good conversion rate for the Chiefs Offense, until you realise we're three quarters of the way through the match.

34-6.  Chiefs are going to come back!

Yeah, no. This game is pretty much over!

EDIT: Score is now 37-6 Eagles

Chiefs are getting cooked worse than Drake.

Max Rockatansky

The Eagles are going to be content to chew up lots of clock with their running game.  No need to take chances with a lead this big.

At least nobody is going to blame the outcome of this one on a few dubious officiating calls.

I can't beleive how bad Maholmes played tonight. Like one first down the entire first half. Didn't get past midfield until the end of the 3rd quarter. Got sacked 6 times. The Chiefs defense played decent for the first half but given they were on the field so much there was only so much they could do. They got worn out.

And the Packers remain the only team to win three championships in a row! Though I wasn't rooting for either team, thank you Eagles!

Well that was basically a hybrid of the Chiefs/Bucs Super Bowl and the 28-3 Super Bowl in an alternate universe where the Patriots never came back. Kinda disappointing for a matchup of two titans to be such a blowout, but it's good to see some different players get rings on their fingers. Chiefs o-line got massacred, Mahomes got beat up and rattled. Hard to knock Mahomes for anything, but it's true that he's been visibly off his game for at least a half of 4 of the 5 SBs he's played in. Chiefs fans don't need a beacon of optimism after how the last few years have gone, but for what it's worth, Xavier Worthy looks like he's becoming a serious weapon. If he puts on some LBS he could be everything the rest of the league doesn't want to see.

Might be going out on a limb, but I think this Eagles team was the most all-around elite football team the NFL has seen since the 2007 Patriots. Team was thoroughbred to win a championship. They literally have everything - including an elite quarterback because that's what Hurts is.

Can't wait for the sad love song Taylor Swift will release.

I was spot on with my predictions. They only showed Taylor Swift once on broadcast during the game, the Eagles stomped the Chiefs, and Kendrick had a fantastic halftime show. Mahomes played that game just astronomically poorly, and Hurts went crazy during that entire thing by definitely being the Eagles MVP along with Elliott who was playing quite well also. The MVP on Chiefs side was definitely Worthy, as said upthread, scoring those 2 touchdowns was no joke.

Celina 52 Truck Stop had a better iteration of the half time show.

As probably one of the few forum members who is actually familiar with Kendrick's music, I thought the song selection was questionable at best aside from the ~4 obvious ones that came across pretty well.

I just know the one song because it gets played at the gym constantly.  All this feuding stuff people younger than me are talking about on social media is going straight over my head.  My wife surprisingly had no insight, that usually isn't the case.

I thought the choices wouldn't be so well known in the public eye, but he performed them really well IMO.

But yeah, overall, a pretty good Super Bowl. Now we can look forward to the off season and the team switches. I do think T. Kelce is gonna retire going forward with how much publicity he has to focus on. Also, despite his lackluster performance, I do think Mahomes will stay on the Chiefs. Will he still be Quarterback though? I do not know.

What a fascinating season it has been, where we learned above all else that whatever "it" is, some organizations got it and others really, really, really don't got it.

I am committing to football withdrawal for the next 7 months. If I follow through, week 1 will be some cinema because I won't know who changed teams and who got drafted where.

Congrats to the Eagles and to the Delaware Valley for the dominating win. I'm not surprised the Eagles won, but I didn't see the beatdown coming.

I couldn't possibly disagree more, it was very refreshing on multiple levels. Zero drama, zero officiating controversy, and proof that the Chiefs are highly beatable in the playoffs with real star talent and depth on defense (which they've hardly, if ever, faced in the AFC playoffs).

I, too, listen to Kendrick and appreciate him as probably my favorite of the modern rappers. I just don't think his style of music really makes for an energetic halftime show. Mid 90's-Early 2000's rap is the only rap that I think remotely fits the bill - 2Pac, Snoop, Dre, Eminem, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Nelly, etc.

mgk920

'Old school' rappers are definitely superior to the current crop.

I feel as though there was a lot of context lost on most people about what was going with the halftime show.  I was under the impression that the show was supposed to be entertaining for everyone and didn't require advance knowledge of a musician feud.  Even now I'm still confused about what actually was going on despite several people trying to explain things to me.
