I sincerely doubt that the Chiefs would move anywhere anytime soon.

As for the Royals, where would they go? I don't know how many new markets actually exist for baseball these days.

Nashville is often mentioned as well. Have they shown any interest in building a stadium to bringing in a team?  Because this seems to be where this always breaks down.

IIRC, the Nationals, Orioles and Braves are the three closest MLB teams to the Carolinas. And as for Nashville, the White Sox have been linked to possibly moving there (but then again, they've been rumored to leave Chicago at some point in the last several decades; you may think the new ballpark would've ended those rumors permanently, but apparently it's no longer so). The Titans and Predators are the two big tickets in town, so any MLB team who plays there, whether relocated or expansion, would struggle against those two teams.

An MLB market is going to be judged much more by potential TV audience rather than attendance. The two best markets for a team to move to are Montreal and San Juan. No dominant popular team in either of those markets.

Both the Carolinas and Nashville would have to compete with the Braves for TV eyeballs.

The Chiefs are not leaving the Kansas City metropolitan area - for as long as Mahomes is on the team, plus at least a decade or so afterwards. At that point we're so far into the future that it's pointless to speculate anything.

Say what you will about stingy and impatient owners, but a good team with a fanbase that always fills the stadium will never leave their city as long as that's the case. They're probably going to end up building a new stadium in Kansas.

Well it looks like the Bears' preseason is off to a great start with Rome Odunze getting injured.

My Top Five:
Patrick Mahomes
Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Brock Purdy
Justin Herbert

I'm also going to make a bold scheduling prediction (to be officially announced sometime before the end of this month):  My Texans are going to be playing in Jerry's World on Thanksgiving Day!
They may very well be playing in Patrick's world on opening day.

The Texans and Chiefs do indeed cross paths this fall, by virtue of both being the reigning division champions (of their respective divisions), but I don't think we know which team has home court yet until the official schedule is released.

https://www.nfl.com/news/demeco-ryans-responds-to-j-j-watt-s-willingness-to-return-to-houston-i-ve-got-his-number-ready-to-go

And though unlikely, I wouldn't completely rule out JJ Watt returning to the Texans roster.  I don't know about adding Stefon Diggs, I really wanted Derrick Henry to come to Houston instead; now Derrick has made Baltimore all but officially crowned Super Bowl LIX Champions next February.  I would also welcome back DeAndre Hopkins.  The Texans are in desperate need of effective players that can be a match with teams like Baltimore.
14 opponents are predetermined, the other 3 are determined at the end of the season and the sites (except for those moved to neutral sites) are determined at that time.  The HOU/KC game will be at KC https://www.houstontexans.com/news/2024-regular-season-opponents-now-locked-in-for-texans
Do not be surprised if that's the Thursday night season kickoff.

Announced today that the opening game will be Baltimore at Kansas City.

I wanted my Texans to play at Arrowhead on Kickoff Night, but after our team's 2020 dismal performance on Kickoff Night there, I guess NFL perhaps decided the Texans aren't Kickoff material and unworthy of another shot after seeing that game in 2020.

I'm hoping we get our hardest opponents out of the way in September -- Ravens, Patriots, Chiefs, Jets, and Vikings -- and start our season 1-4 or 2-3, and then save our positive run in November/December and finish the regular season something similar to 8-1 or 8-2.

If we in Landover were committed to starting Jayden right away, I would have liked to see a primetime Bengals-Commanders matchup between two LSU alumni.

I was confused by the initial list, but throwing the Colts on there ahead of the Bills and Cowboys is also questionable.

It's always division games the last week. For a while, it was Bears-Vikings every year.

Yeah I meant Patriots and Vikings; the latter which the Texans have never beaten yet; and yes any team owned by Robert Kraft have owned us since the beginning of the Texans existance.  In the past two decades, the Robert Kraft have out-CEO'ed Calhoun McNair -- for that reason, the Patriots will always be the one team I absolutely fear to have to face against.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how Caleb Williams adjusts to the NFL grind, but he should certainly make them even better than last year's 7-10 team. Playoffs are a stretch, but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't make it in future seasons.

BTW, what's to become of that new stadium? Arlington Heights sounds like a good backup plan if the lakefront plans fall apart.

If the lakefront plans fall apart, Indiana needs to put something together for a stadium right by the Hard Rock casino. Perfect spot for it.

You just gained 10 yards because the other team received a penalty. However, you have the option to instead kick out the offending player for two minutes and be one man up. Would you take the 10 yards or the power play? Does it depend on whether you're on offense or defense?

The Bears should be building at the Arlington Heights site. It is large, close to transportation and can be developed further. Why rent when you can own?

Why the McCaskeys want to continue to rent a land locked site, and attempt to get $2 billion from taxpayers is beyond me. Just a lack of bold thinking all around.

The fact that they didn't resolve the property tax issues around the Heights site prior to purchase is also malpractice.

Wow, two minutes is an eternity in football.  Especially with all the clock stoppages.  You pretty much guarantee a score for the offense or forcing a punt for the defense.  Too severe a penalty for a game that starts and stops the way football does.
