A 4.9 struck southeast of Shreveport, LA, the second largest recorded earthquake in state history and potentially the largest inland quake recorded in Louisiana.

QuoteA strong earthquake has struck northeastern Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency says the magnitude 6.4 quake occurred off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture, and had an intensity of lower 5 on the Japanese scale of 0 to 7 in the hardest-hit areas. The agency says there is no risk of a tsunami.

Here is more fallout in the latest quake in Mindanao.

By now I'm sure plenty of people must've heard about the 6.1 Earthquake off the west coast of Cuba that was felt in parts of Florida.

For the record, I didn't feel a thing. If I hadn't seen it on the news, I never would've known it had happened.

I remember being in California when an earthquake reportedly struck.  Most of us didn't feel a thing.  But I was listening to a guy play pipe organ at the time and, when we heard there had been an earthquake, he said, —I didn't feel it, but I wondered why my feet got off by one pedal.

When I was a kid, northern Indiana felt very slight shaking from an earthquake. Something like 2.5. I happened to be at the town pool at the time. People outside the pool felt it, but those of us in the pool felt nothing.

My earliest earthquake was early enough that I don't even personally remember it, back in New Lenox IL.  My parents say that I was playing out in the front yard at the time and just started crying.  After some googling, I suppose it must have been the Olney earthquake in June 1987, which means I'd have been not quite six years old then.

The only ones I actually remember feeling were from here in Wichita a few years ago, when the fracking boom in Oklahoma was leading to some seismic activity that could be felt up here.  There were several house-shaking quakes during that year.

The closest I came to feeling an earthquake, was the one off the west coast of Florida in 2006. However, at the time I thought it was some sort of construction equipment being used by the people who built out house in order to intimidate my family.
