I have a friend in Kumamoto. She said the shaking was strong and they've been told to expect aftershocks. There's already been several. Apparently they can't sleep at all, too nervous.

Seeing an AEON Mall partially collapsed is wild. Normally stuff is built really well, and AEON is like the Japanese version of Simon or Westfield. They're legit properties and nice places, didn't think any would come out damaged in an earthquake.
