Whenever I think of Sudan, I always think of a silly discussion prompt that was put out by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources a couple of years ago. The prompt was to name a state park using three emojis, so I thought of using the Sudanese flag for Soudan Underground Mine State Park (which is named for a nearby town pronounced the same way). So I did 🇸🇩⬇️⚒️ (in case those don't come through, the Sudanese flag followed by an arrow pointing down and a hammer and pick axe crossed). It got a laugh out of whoever was running the Facebook page.
