So what?  Joplin MO isn't a suburb either, but it has both a Crumbl and a Nothing Bundt Cakes.  I don't see any problem with that.

Are you planning on moving somewhere that isn't "suburbanized?"  If so, you won't find what you are looking for in most of Illinois.

Oh, there are plenty of non-suburbanized places in Illinois.  Maybe he should move to Zeigler, Iuka, Addieville, or Beecher City.  No big chain soccer mom coffee shops in those towns!

If I wanted to open a Crumbl Cookies franchise I'd be looking to lease commercial space as close to a college as I could find.

Crumbl was founded in Logan, Utah (home of Utah State University).  A lot of the franchise operations you're mentioning seem well suited to the college student market.

Yes, it's surrounded by suburbs, Bradley a surrounded by farmland on 2 sides, Bourbonnais on the 3rd, Kankakee on the other. (Before you ask yes it is a Kankakee suburb, but I'm only talking Chicago suburbs here).

Last I checked there is only one road hobby regular espousing the virtues of Burger King.  Beaver brand has a whole dedicated thread on this forum for some reason.
