I think you missed the part where Plutonic Panda linked a clip for Silent Night Deadly Night II?  He linked this clip in the reply before me which contains the quote "garbage day!"

Hey look at that, I provided a citation!  Not so hard after all, give it a try.

If you highlight the quote you like and click "Quote selected text" it will create the code for a nicely formatted quote box for you in the "Quick Reply" box. You can then cut and paste it in this thread.

This has the benefits of both allowing readers to click a link to return to the original discussion (if they're interested in the context) and notifying the original poster that they have been quoted.

I know . . . but that doesn't work on locked threads.

I suppose including the group/thread name would make it easy for someone to find the evidence.

It's possible to manually create a quote of a locked thread, but it takes a bit of work. For example, you'll need to find the Unix timestamp (or just binary search until the date and time match).

I kind of wonder what he thought "garbage day" was a reference to?  He clearly didn't get that it was a quote from a campy 80s slasher movie.

I need to come up with a nickname for this poster.

Nickname ideas
- Captain Compliance - always waving the DOT rulebook.
- Manual Man - as if every post is a spec sheet citation.
- Mr. 19,515 - a nod to his post count obsession.
- The Forum Foreman - barking orders like he's running a job site.
- Spec Sheet Sage - convinced every detail must be benchmarked against a manual.
- Bridge Troll - lurking under every thread, ready to pounce.
- DOT Oracle - speaks as if his word is policy.
- The Dichotomy Dude - riffing off that "bizarre dichotomy" line.

There, I fixed it for you.  When you don't properly format your quotes, the timestamp doesn't adjust correctly based on people's local time zone.  Why are you too lazy to do this the right way?  The world wonders.

Also, you capitalized my username incorrectly.  It should be all lowercase.  Why are you so inattentive to detail?  The world wonders.
