The "No Trains, More Dams" signs around every major State Highway in central San Joaquin Valley.  I don't agree with the huge cost overruns and lack oversight that the High Speed Rail has had but the farmers are crack if they think more dams are somehow going to produce extra water in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

There's a couple here in Houston that bother me because they're incorrect.
On I 45 south heading into downtown, at the interchange with I 10, there's a sign for an upcoming exit and only this one sign lists it as "Dallas avenue/Pierce avenue."   Those are not what those streets are called. They are Dallas and pierce streets. Every other sign lists them correctly aside from this one
The same thing is found on I 69/US 59 heading north into downtown just after the merge with 288 and right before the interchange with I 45: there's an exit signed for "gray avenue/ pierce avenue" . Again, it's "gray street/pierce street."   This is the only sign that lists it this way

There used to be a brand new sign on I 45 that had airline drive misspelled as "Arline Drive"  but they replaced it.
I love freeways and roads in any state but Texas will always be first in my heart

I pass this one frequently, on the way to my favorite hike in Missouri. I first saw this sign about five years ago and have been wondering why its taken MoDOT so long to fix it ever since.

The VMS sign on I-25 SB past between I-76 and I-70. It usually has the current travel time to Speer Blvd and US 6 and is a good proxy indicator of upcoming downtown traffic and whether I should stay the course or bail and take an alternate route. However, often our geniuses at CDOT put nonessential information on the signs e.g. "Buckle Up", "Downtown Event Saturday", "Don't Drink and Drive" while removing the important current travel time information from the sign.

I always speed up when I see those signs. I'm sure that if I had kids and they lived there, they'd want me to get home as quickly as possible.

FTFY. I think those signs are condescending and otherwise useless no matter where they are.

My retort to that sign on my street was taking our nieces for rides in my Challenger.

I think it's gone now, but Washington St in Revere MA once had a ".10 kills" sign, long after even the state dropped the BAC level to .08 for the drunk driving threshold.

Put me on the list for the "Drive Like Your Kids Live Here" signs, and anywhere. Does Casey Anthony speed up when she sees one?

Worse off are the more rare "Drive Like Your Pets Live Here" signs.

Here's mine (I know it's temporary, but it still bugs me):

Similarly, when I was in my teens, sometimes the police put up one of those "SPEED LIMIT 25/YOUR SPEED [display]"  trailers in our neighborhood. I may have tried to set the high score a few times. Good thing I've grown up a bit since then!

commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"

A few months ago, some of those appeared in my neighborhood after some residents complained about speeders in the area. They have since been removed, but rather than using it to measure my speed while driving, I used it to measure my speed while sprinting. I'm a distance runner, not a sprinter, so ended up getting a speed of about 15mph.

I'm also a distance runner, the best I ever did was 17 MPH for a short burst.  They had one on my street occasionally in Scottsdale and I would do sprints at it towards the end of my morning runs.

Not gonna lie, I thought that sign was actually a North Carolina sign posted by tolbs. That is genuinely lazy what they did, repurposing the old left exit sign. They couldn't even be bothered to move the exit tab to the right.

Rebuilding California: project funded with SB1 dollars signs

Even worse is when the sign is up but there's no progress for a long time for simple projects like paving.
