I had a feeling a shift in the lanes was coming pretty soon, going to be interesting to see this next phase as the 19th st overpass will be meeting the same fate as the 29th st overpass

East Shore Section 3 Update

QuoteOctober 2025 Update
In September 2025, PennDOT opened bids for Contract 2 which is the second of two contracts for the construction of the East Shore Section 3 improvements. Notice to proceed is expected to be given to the contractor near mid-October with construction estimated to be completed in 2033. Contract 2 includes widening of portions of the I-83 roadway, construction of two mainline bridges, construction of an overhead bridge at 13th Street, construction of a 17th Street bridge over the railroad, and roadway improvements along the Paxton Street, 17th Street and 13th Street corridors.

I'm guessing implosion is easier than dismantling as concrete arch structures are all steel rods instead of girders.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.
