Sometimes I'm in the mood for something fruity.
Sometimes I'm in the mood for something like root beer or butterscotch.
In neither case do I want to be surprised with the other.

I just grabbed one and I think it's orange root beer. Apparently the mystery flavor is the result of when they swap out the vats midstream so it's a toss-up.

Yes, that's what I've heard as well.  Occasionally I can tell there's more than one flavor together, but more often it's just a flavor I didn't appreciate getting.

Goodness sakes, the one 15 minutes away in Decatur isn't enough? And Francesco's is better in that town. And locally, Mozza makes a decent pie for the price.

What a weird thing to court in an already cramped area by the exit.

Great, I'm turning into Frothman.

You apparantly have never hear of Jelly Belly's game, Beanboozled!  Spin the spinner and select the appropriate Jelly Belly -- Is it the good, traditional flavor, or is it a bad-tasting flavor in disguise?

Fancy pens.

Twenty years ago, I drove a delivery route and had to sign delivery tickets all day every day.  When the temperature dropped low enough, I always had trouble getting my pen to write.  I tried several different kinds.  What I found worked the most reliably, even in the bitter cold, was ...

... good old BiC Cristal, the ubiquitous cheap-o ballpoint pen that's been around since 1950.  Since then, it's pretty much all I ever use.

Yepper, the cheap Bic pens are still overall best.  Also a few seconds over a lighter flame works in very cold weather.  For many years I have thought that a great ad for them would be a business (person) using a badly mangled one that was hurriedly picked up from a street or parking lot for a quick important signature.

Pilot V5 Precise for writing, general EDC pen.

Sakura Pigma Micron 03 for drawing, 01 for super-fine lines.

Zebra F-301 (0.5mm) is my favorite ballpoint for glossy surfaces; though I can't say I've used them in cold weather.

I keep some promotional or hotel pen for loaning out, have about 100 of them at home at any given time.

Cheap Bics may be nice for their reliability, but I find them a little uncomfortable to write with. (I find the shape of the Cristal in particular kind of impleasing to hold.) I think with pens there's really a bell curve in niceness as the price point increases. If you spend a bit more you can get some really nice pens which are a pleasure to write with. If you spend too much, though, you start getting into the weird executive pens that are designed to be fancy conspicuous luxury items but are worse to actually write with than the bargain basement disposable pens.

Fountain pens are really nice to write with, but it's a hassle dealing with the ink and finding paper that works well with them. Most modern paper absorbs ink too well because it's cheaper to make it that way, since it doesn't matter for printers or ballpoint ink. Fountain pen ink ends up bleeding through the paper ("feathering") and it ends up looking worse.

Normally when we stay overnight in Las Vegas my wife and I stay at Planet Hollywood.  She got a really good rate at Caesars Palace so we stayed there instead.  The thing that gets me is that there is not much in the way of normal people casual food options at Caesars Palace.  We spent most of the day with her family out in the city and it would have been nice to just get some quick name-brand fast food at the end of the night.  I feel as though Caesars Palace is trying to cater to people who want to eat at places named after TV Chefs I've barely heard of.

Also the room we are staying at is near the elevator banks and I can hear the jazz track the casino has for background music.  I didn't realize that jazz music can be pumped with so much bass.

Vegas has some of the best food in the country, once you get the hell off the strip.

And the lunch we had wasn't going to be topped by anything we can find in this casino.  These hotels are a means to an end for me.  The way I originally planned this trip we would have just drove to my brother's in St. George after seeing my wife's family.

Descants.  If a hymn has a descant on the final verse, then all the other verse are automatically guaranteed to sound better than it.
