How do they work?  One every mile counting up 1.61, 3.22, etc., or one every KM counting up 0.62, 1.24, etc.?

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

The Texas FM/RM route shield, because the numbers are way too small.

Quote from: Max Rockatansky on September 07, 2026, 04:23:24 PMIt makes me wonder if there is some sort of popular perception of government employees as being lazy or most are somehow embroiled in political fervor of the day.  Most of the workers are just regular folks who are just trying to get by and make a living.

Most of them are of a certain political persuasion who claims to hate "big government" but blindly and passionately defend politicians who vastly increase the size of the government with a religious zeal. They don't know anything except what they are told to think.

Quote from: Rothman on September 08, 2026, 09:46:13 PM"I'd rather be at work, being told what to do by someone else, than be at home" is another sad statement, though.

I certainly don't spend my day at work being told what to do by someone else.  Heck, my bosses don't even really know most of what I do.  That's part of the reason I'm the only one who does my job.  When I stepped into the position, they gave me a list of tasks, and it was up to me to figure out how to accomplish them.  Then, over the years, the list has changed by additions and deletions, but nobody has ever really kept track of them.  In fact, my bosses aren't even the same people as back then.  So, not only do my bosses not know how I do what I do, but they really don't even have a comprehensive list of what it is that I do.  All they know is that my piece of the business runs smoothly, while they only have a vague sense of what my piece of the business actually entails.

If I were to die in a car crash tomorrow, the company would be pretty screwed for a while, till my closest co-worker figured out how to do what I do based on the last time I trained her to cover for a week's vacation.  But even she doesn't know the weekly and monthly things I do—just the daily stuff, minus the changes that have happened since she last sat in my chair.

That sounds like worker abuse. You are willing to do the job of more than one person, and they are taking advantage of your work ethic. I hope they are at least paying you fairly well.

I'm not much of a holiday person now that most of my close family is gone, but New Year's Eve is my favorite holiday because it is an excuse to get absolutely wasted.

I'll step in for Max and say while that's fine, again you just kind of throw things out hoping other people bite without explaining your thought.

It's abundantly clear that 57/66 is a troll. But the admins won't do anything about him. They are always chickenshit when it comes to trolls, but they removed a Tom From Ohio "do us all a favor and fuck off" post I made. Double standard.

Your trolling is overrated. You should read some old Tom From Ohio or even Carl Rogers (who was a shitty troll. but not as bad as you are) posts on MTR.

Do they still do the Walmart Cheer? Whatever Target does cannot be any weirder than that. Cult-level shit.

Here is a sampling from Target:

Team Member - Catch all term for a Target employee.
Level 1 - An entry level rank and file employee.
Level 2 - A department lead.
Guest - What Target calls a customer.
Executive Team Lead - A department manager.
LOD/Leader On Duty - The Manager On Duty.

There are levels higher than 2, I just can't recall what a 3 and up are.  Each department has a slogan that they are required to memorize.  You can be quizzed at any point during your shift regarding your knowledge of the slogan.

Cashiers have a speed chart board.  Back when I worked at Target if you fell below completing transactions timely 80% or more of the time you could potentially be let go.

The term "Target Brand" was a catch all term for pretty much everything I described above.  You were not allowed to deviate from how HQ had your department outlined.  Most departments would be audited several times a year regarding how "Target Brand" they were.

You aren't the least bit funny. When I was trolling MTR back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, my entire intent was to be funny. Not to be disruptive, not to be an asshole. Some members of MTR took it way too seriously and got legitimately mad. As time has passed, the anger has gone away and those troll posts are fondly remembered by some.

Even a large business. When I worked at the hotel from 2018-2021, it was opened by me and one other salaried manager. (I ended up being able to get one more eventually). The same amount of restaurants/bars now is run by five salaried managers.

If you can pick something off this list that we can act on I'm happy to do so. I'll save you some time looking by pointing out "being a dumbass" isn't on the list of things we can act on.

Note that "insulting remarks towards the admin team" is on the list of things we can do something about, but I'm choosing not to. So much for your double standard.

You're so damn smart, figure it out on your own.

Both of you could stand to try harder.

One of you is clearly not taking their prescribed medication and the other is resting on laurels made 20+ years ago.
