The westbound elevation sign needs to be replaced as well, but even looking at earlier Google Maps captures, I can't tell where it's supposed to be at. I even tried looking for it farther east where you first crest the hill going westbound.

On Interstate 90 eastbound, just before milepost and Exit 115, this Tourist Activities sign is broken. This happened sometime between April 12, 2022, and April 19, 2022, as it was still standing on my drive on the former date, but was broken when I passed through there again on my next drive on the latter date.

Now, I just drove down there today to check out the fire damage from a fire yesterday that burned in the area–not in the direct area, but in the county. After milepost 20 on eastbound I-82, there's an area that's all black. I went to turn around at Exit 30, and what do I see?









Now, I didn't read about whatever crash in the news, I just stumbled upon it today when I drove down there, but I have a high suspicion that it was caused by a drunk driver.

Funny part was that on the way down there, it was still needing repairs, and it was fixed when I came back through the area at the base of Satus Pass on the north side of the summit. I did see DOT vehicles in the pullout here heading south: https://goo.gl/maps/AmqL4UTret2bHEgdA There's also been a paving project going in the area the last few weeks, and given it was obvious, there's no they could have missed it while working on the road. I didn't check to see if they fixed the one on the southbound side, at the end of the pullout seen in the link earlier in this paragraph, where the "d" in Goldendale is virtually non-existent.

17) and 18) In Benton City, Washington (I-82 Exit 96), this big and tall sign here just before the eastbound Interstate 82 entrance needs new Interstate 82 shield stickers. You can make it out in person, but just barely. All of Google Maps' image versions have the shields faded, so I can't post a last known good image. In that same area, both "Freeway Entrance" signs for that eastbound Interstate 82 entrance need to be replaced, as they are not there. Coming back from Twin Falls, I managed to find this one on the ground and get a photo of it. The area around it is burned from a fire that happened at some point–don't know when–but there are no signs on the wooden post that it was burned, so I don't know what caused it to break.

This one is fixed.

The light pole and other sign still need repairs, but this one is fixed already.

This portable VMS sign on 295 South at MP 24.1 has been here since 2022. It simply reads 'Road Work Ahead', blinks off then the message again: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5jKKtNFkBiZwaSeY9 . There's no road work south of this location. It's questionable if there is ever any road work attributable to the sign. The only road work on 295 since the sign has been located here was an ongoing project at Exit 4, about 20 miles to the south that didn't cause any congestion. There's no road work on the ramps or exits either south of here. So whoever placed a sign here either did it accidentally, or maybe it was stolen and dropped there. Who knows.

The NJDOT reporting page doesn't want stories like this, so I had to summarize it onto 200 characters. I'll see if they actually look onto it.

Looking back at my videos, it was still standing on my drive to Haines, Oregon, on November 29, 2022, and it was lying on the ground on my drive to Newberg, Oregon, on December 20, 2022. So, it fell sometime between those dates.

And as I suspected. I received an automated email at 4:04pm stating "This is to notify that your problem request has been completed. Thank you. Regards, New Jersey Department of Transportation Motorist Assistance".

You mentioned responses are automated. I wonder if it's not an actual human closing the ticket, but an AI algorithm that looks for certain parameters in the message with regard to urgency and other things, and if a certain amount of those parameters are "false," them it automatically closes the ticket. Similar to YouTube's algorithm for copyright music being found in videos being automatic, which is sometimes wrong. I don't know, though, especially since I don't live there. Just a guess.

So this is an interesting development. I came home from a trip around 10pm Monday night. The sign was gone! So I guess NJDOT did investigate it and figured out whose portable VMS unit it was.

The closure of the report shouldn't have occurred when it did (IMO) but it must've at least been sent to the right department to be taken care of.

The post containing a "Ramp Metered When Flashing" and beacon on the left side of this on ramp was hit by a vehicle during one of our snowstorms in January 2023, and had remained there on the ground there for some time. I finally reported it on an NDOT online service request form in late May 2023, and it had been repaired within less than two weeks.

There was a similar incident here in my state last week on the 23rd, though it's not a sign I've reported. A semi going westbound on Interstate 82 took Exit 96 for Benton City too fast and couldn't make the roundabout.
