Highly doubt it. Maybe a dog bone type interchange or something. A new toll gantry will probably be required on the turnpike between the new interchange and I-70/K-4 though.

Quote from: elsmere241 on May 17, 2026, 03:40:40 PMDuring our road trip from hell in 2022, we had to do a couple of major shunpikes.

When we crossed from Missouri to Oklahoma on I-44, we got charged around $17 due to the trailer we were towing.  We got off for gas at US 59 and got a good chunk of that back since it had been the full toll to Tulsa.  We took 59 down from there to I-40.

Not sure how you "got a good chunk of it back" by just getting off the toll road.  Shunpiking doesn't refund money spent?

That's the way it was set up. At the booth just in to OK, we paid the toll for all the way to Tulsa.  The toll collector gave us a receipt.  We turned the receipt in at the booth when we got off, and got a lot of that back.

Just out of idle curiosity, did you mean the US-69 exit? I ask because the main toll booth on the Rogers Turnpike is near Vinita, which is west of the US-59 exit, and so you wouldn't have hit it if you had exited there.

I just double-checked Google Maps.  We weren't on the turnpike very long, and we got back most of what we'd paid just after crossing in to Oklahoma when we got off.  We at least started on US 59 going south.

I thought one of the points of going AET was so that interchanges wouldn't have to be trumpets?

^ The KTA already used a diamond for the Tonganoxie Exit (Google aerial; Streetview for westbound) prior to the AET conversion.

QuoteKTA confirms funding for I-470 interchange

When I first read the title, I thought it was about the reconfiguration of the current KTA/I-335/I-470/US-75 interchange.  :-D

Is there any way they could add a ramp from Interstate 470 West-to-US 75 South without too much right-of-way impacts?

Knock out two businesses and put in a loop ramp under the flyover?  Of course, that would be really expensive because of the flyover.  But also unnecessary, because all you'd really need is a loop ramp from SB I-335 to SB US-75, which would only require acquiring a bunch of piles of gravel from an excavation company.
