Quote from: Beltway on August 27, 2025, 10:28:36 PMThe Washington Region Transportation Coalition issued a formal letter in March 2025 urging both states to prioritize the American Legion Bridge, citing its critical role and long-standing neglect compared to other projects.

Before the scamdemic, the American Legion Bridge was widely recognized as the DC region's worst traffic bottleneck. The Bridge carried a daily average of 250,000 vehicles and 375,000 people to jobs, housing, and commerce throughout our community. For comparison, the 2024 daily average ridership for the entire Metrorail system was 350,000 trips. Now that most public and private sector employees across the DC area have returned to the office, the number of people who rely on this bridge daily is growing, and if left unaddressed, this vital transportation corridor will continue to see further crippling congestion and delays.

As the only bridge directly connecting the DC region's two largest jurisdictions – Fairfax and Montgomery Counties – the American Legion Bridge is critical to both the economic prosperity and security of the Nation's Capital. When a tanker truck overturned on the bridge in 2018, it created a 24-hour traffic nightmare that brought our entire community to a standstill. Now the Maryland Department of Transportation has confirmed that the Bridge will reach the end of its useful life by 2030 and must be replaced.

You misquoted the Washington Region Transportation Coalition.  I highlighted the misquoted portion for you.  In the future, would you please accurately reflect the writings you quote, rather than change portions of them to suit your own viewpoints?

Also, I see they claimed in 2022 that 38% of DC area residents might move out of the area if traffic congestion and transit options haven't improved within five years.  Granted, I'm sure they didn't force the poll respondents to answer that way, and of course it isn't 2027 yet, but still it leads me to suspect the Coalition is not the best at accurately and level-headedly evaluating transportation needs in the area.

Is Beltway taking the nuclear option and bringing COVID talk into this?

You literally copied and pasted their letter, and then changed 'pandemic' to 'scamdemic'. What the fuck?

I fixed his quote for you, below.

Quote from: Beltway on August 27, 2025, 10:28:36 PMBefore the scamdemic, the American Legion Bridge was widely recognized as The City of Eureka region's worst traffic bottleneck. The Bridge carried a daily average of 250,000 vehicles and 375,000 people to jobs, housing, and commerce throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Terrtiories, Nunavut, Quebec, Greenland, Iceland, Alanland, Hawaii, Bermuda, Belize, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon, not central america, caribbean, or south america. For comparison, the 2024 daily average ridership for the entire Metrorail system was 350,000 trips. Now that most public and private sector employees across Australia (Nation), or New Zealand have returned to the office, the number of people who rely on this bridge daily is growing, and if left unaddressed, this vital transportation corridor will continue to see further crippling congestion and delays.

As the only bridge directly connecting The City of Eureka region's two largest jurisdictions – Europe and Australia – the American Legion Bridge is critical to both the economic prosperity and security of The City of Eureka. When a tanker truck overturned on the bridge in 2018, it created a 24-hour traffic nightmare that brought our entire community to a standstill. Now the EPD has confirmed that the Bridge will reach the end of its useful life by 2030 and must be replaced.
