August 25: Feel free to post any retrospective stuff, summaries of your contributions to this season of the XY challenge, or discuss what we will see in September and October. I will stick to the original plan, requiring the posts to be based on the ones digit of the route numbers, of which one route will be an Interstate (or other nationwide motorway) and the other route will be a state/provincial route.

Clarification, please:  The other route can't also be an Interstate?  The original schedule said "junction of an Interstate and any other route having (that day's) digits."

Good catch, and great question! If a larger number of people want to keep the other route specific to state/provincial routes only, I will make that official. But I will stick to the wording of the original post- the route besides the Interstate/motorway should be a route of any other type besides Interstate/motorway. Personally, I will be playing in a way that stipulates the other route must be a state route, but I won't force that stipulation on anyone else.

At the risk of sounding anal, I'm still unclear because these two phrases say the same thing.  I ask because I've already started going through my photos to note which ones to post each day.

paulthemapguy

There are more than two different types of routes...Besides Interstate and state routes, you have US routes, county routes...

Yes...  but that doesn't answer my question -- is another Interstate not allowed as the second route?

(And at the risk of my sounding really anal, rule #5 allows only Interstate, US, and state/provincial routes.)
