The AFC:

Clinched a playoff spot: Broncos, Patriots, Jaguars, Chargers, Bills
In the hunt: Steelers, Texans
On the bubble: Colts, Ravens

The NFC:

Clinched a playoff spot: Seahawks, Bears, Eagles, Rams, 49ers, Packers
In the hunt: Panthers
On the bubble: Buccaneers

So then if the Packers win tomorrow, the Ravens are out of the playoffs.

Mike

If the Packers beat or tie the Ravens, the Steelers clinch the AFC North and the Ravens are eliminated.
If the Ravens beat the Packers, the Bears clinch the NFC North and the Packers are locked into the 7 seed.

So either way somebody who doesn't play tomorrow is clinching their division tomorrow.

That Texans game was the most Texans game possible and the most Chargers game possible at the exact same time.

Basically the Packers had nothing to play for.  I'm kind of looking for the same kind of performance from them next week at (out of the playoffs) Minnesota.

So we have two winner-take-all games next Sunday.

Given the markets involved, I'm pretty confident in predicting that Steelers-Ravens gets the Sunday night slot over Bucs-Panthers.

I'd expect Bucs-Panthers to get one of the two Saturday slots. Guessing Niners-Seahawks for the other.

I think Seahawks/Niners goes late on FOX Sunday. FOX and CBS won't get completely shafted for ABC and NBC.

Ravens-Steelers and Bucs-Panthers are gonna be stressful next week

Great teams make extra points.

If the Cowboys beat the Giants, they'll become the first team in the 17-game era to finish a season with a .500 record.

If the Bucs and Panthers end up in a 2-way tie, the Bucs win the division, but if they end up in a 3-way tie with the Falcons, the Panthers win the division.

So the Panthers are pro-3way and the Bucs are anti-3way.

I don't know if this is parody, but no. The answer is no.

Washington finished 8-8-1 in 2022.

What a mess. This probably also means Bucs-Panthers can't be SNF.

It was likely the last option the NFL and NBC wanted anyway. Baltimore/Pittsburgh is much more attractive for many reasons beyond the "no other teams matter" angle.

And it is Steelers/Ravens for NBC in the final game.

Not quite. If the Packers had won their last two games and duh Bears had lost their last two games, the Packers would've won the NFC North. Now that they lost to the Ravens, they have nothing to play for next week against the Vikings. Of course I still want them to beat the Vikes.

No, but they are the first Saturday game on ABC/ESPN, with the Seahawks/49ers as the nightcap.  Both games are for division titles, warranting national coverage.  Game times are 4:30 and 8 PM ET.

The SNF game on NBC will be Ravens/Steelers for the AFC North title.

If the 49ers beat the Seahawks, then both teams will be at 13-4. However, because the 49ers beat the Seahawks "a long time ago" (week 1), the 49ers will have the head-to-head advantage and take the number one seed in the NFC. This will be like the end of the 2019 season again.

Actually Bucs and Panthers may not determine the NFC South. If Atlanta beats the Rams tonight AND beats the Saints next week, the Panthers clinch the division regardless of the outcome of Saturday's game.

That figures.....
The owners of Pittsburgh's NBC affiliate (WPXI) have been in a contract dispute with Verizon (FiOS) since Dec 15th. If they don't get it resolved by Sunday, looks like I'm going somewhere to watch the game  (using an antenna the reception isn't very good) - That said, once we lost to the Browns yesterday, most everyone figured they'd get SNF.

I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

Or, Youtube TV has free trials.  Enough of their subscribers took free trials from other services when Youtube TV blacked out Disney (including ESPN) several weeks ago, it's only fair that they should host a few refugees from Verizon.

And when it comes to the NFC South, the messiest outcome usually occurs. Now, the Panthers can clinch with a win, but the Bucs need a win and a Saints win.  Insane that the Falcons can cause this much drama despite being eliminated weeks ago.

It is not looking good for the Texans moving forward.  Unless the Steelers can pull off some sort of a miracle upset win at Baltimore on Sunday Night, my Texans are going to be stuck with them in the Wild Card Game the following weekend and we know all too well that Lamar Jackson is our absolute worst nightmare....he's become an expert at dismantling the Texans throughout his career -- by an average win margin of almost 26 points per game.  And if we have to travel to Baltimore, it's season over for the Texans.

But there is an escape route to where we can avoid the Ravens:  This weekend if the Texans lose to the Colts, AND either the Broncos or the Jets (or both) win, that scenario will slip the Texans down to the #6 or #7 seed so as to avoiding having going to Baltimore....that is at least until the Divisional Round.  And better yet we would love to see either the Bills or Chargers to eliminate the Ravens for us in the Wild Card round.  Yes I am that scared of Lamar Jackson!
We're so far south that we're not even considered "The South"
