I've seen it many times; it's been more common the last few days, but I've known about it for years. You may notice the outdated stuff (PS3) and typos (singkes).

This is such a pain in the ass, especially when you see a list of things that have nothing to do with roads at all.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Saw one site today that described the route of WY 789, but showed a map of I-81 :sombrero:

"Singkes" are little sounds made when tossing a coin in a fountain or a small stone in a small body of water.

Entertainment: Tickets Concerns

Happened to me yesterday for the first time. A reload of the page fixed it.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Just got a 500 Internal Service Error for a few minutes.

Max Rockatansky

I was expecting something more along the lines of a AAToads website.

Weird thing for me right now on Sunday morning is that the forum loads fine on my iPad, but on my phone I get some sort of GoDaddy page saying the aaroads.com domain is taken (duh).

I'm on my desktop computer right now. In Firefox, the forum goes to "aaroads.com/lander" which is just a blank page. But the forum is working fine in Chrome. :hmmm:

Edit: On my tablet, Firefox is working fine for the forum.

It was redirecting to GoDaddy holding page for me. New hosting?

This afternoon this happened on both devices. I don't want to say I'm "glad" to see it happened to someone else, but I guess I'm glad to know the problem wasn't on my end.

Alex took all of AARoads down for a bit because of issues with GET requests from Hong Kong.

If Alex sees this, I'm wondering if perhaps taking it offline during certain hours on certain days might help?  Perhaps start with Monday through Friday from midnight to 6 AM Eastern (which is when a lot of networks go into maintenance windows anyway), and then maybe just go random unannounced outages for a few days?  Maybe if the GET requests are unsuccessful, they will slow down or stop?  The middle of the night in the Western Hemisplhere is the middle of the working day in the Eastern Hemisphere.

The AARoads Wiki has had some intermittent outages as well. It seems that today all traffic is being routed through Cloudflare.

I would think setting up a firewall rule to block certain bad ranges would be more effective than intermittent outages. For performance reasons I had to set up some rules to handle certain spambots or crawlers on the wiki side.

Cloudflare was my suggestion. I'm on another forum that was getting 5,000 bots at a time, and they just implemented Cloudflare about a week ago, which removed all (and I mean literally all) the bots.

Somehow we still have 6,000, the same number as before it was added.

I blame the guy that was ripping off Shield Gallery photos and passing them off as his own on the Facebook group called Roadgeekery.

Road Hog

I too got a GoDaddy page this morning, but all seems back to normal.

When we say no DST threads, we mean it.

CovalenceSTU

I got "too many redirects" trying to open the forum when the DST change happened.

And for the longest time since the upgrade, I would randomly get "The connection was reset" or a blank page when browsing the forum. Happened on different devices, connections, signed in or out, etc. but not today for some reason.

Thing 342

Was hitting a redirect loop for several hours last night. Working now, obviously.
