I found half a bag of Reese's peanut butter carrots from Easter in the freezer tonight.

Also, I had a look at the World Cup schedule and there is no game scheduled for Levi's Stadium the day I have to do an audit up at Moffett Field.

Our brand new work vehicle is a 2026 Chevy Express passenger van with the 4.3L V6.  It is pretty much lacking in any modern amenities aside cruise control and a back up camera.  For some reason the 8-speed automatic has a multimatic mode which I just discovered today.  The multimatic is operated on the column shifter and is way more fun to use than it has any business being.

Unless it's because they wouldn't give you the cup without you having to hassle them for it.

One time I went to the Chick-Fil-A on my college campus, ordered, got my food, got my drink, and left in about 45 seconds. That was the most impressed I have ever been by a fast food restaurant.

Makes me wonder how long the food was sitting around before you got there.

Very fast-serving fast food restaurants do impress me quite a bit—unless I drive away and then find out they got my order wrong.

Yesterday was the first Sunday since February where there's been a full hour of local news from 6-7 on my local ABC station - no sports overruns or preemptions.

Most people don't change their avatars very often. According to my computer's filesystem, I generated a 65px OK 74 shield in November 2010, and I probably set it as my avatar that same day. I didn't change it until I moved to Nevada in February 2024, and it's been US 91 since then other than when I change it to a Rainbow Boulevard sign (or this year, Rainbow CA) for pride month.

Just sayin'.

I can't even see user avatars on my phone unless I flip it or click on a user profile.

I just picked an avatar and a user name back when I joined the forum.  I had recently watched Fury Road and both were derived from the movie.  I haven't put any thought into either since then.

They definitely help me keep track of which user is which. A couple of months back two people in the same state ended up with the same US highway, and I was confused any time the second person with that avatar posted because I associated it with the first person.

I considered using a Nevada I-11 since I am one of the few people with a soft spot for I-11, but someone was already doing that, so I went with US-91 instead.

Changing mine for comedic effect.

My I-664 sign didn't work anymore after some software update a year ago.

That is why I changed it to a photo of the tunnel portal.

When I first made an avatar, I picked a Texas I-10 shield since I-10 connected both of the metro areas I had lived in up to that point. After a little while, I changed it to a TX 288 Toll shield in honor of the new tollway, and that became my calling card for a long time. I ended up having to change it after one of the forum resets/bot battles that broke some things. Nowadays, my avatar is an I-644 shield that I made on SignMaker and screenshotted because of the new designation of OK 364 in Tulsa that is supposed to happen any day now. There may have been a few other avatars sprinkled in there as well (maybe an Astros logo or US 59?)

I've been thinking of switching back to the TX 288 shield since I got a job back in Texas and drive 288 almost every day now.

And mine is a WV 68 shield from Wikimedia Commons, except the numbers are set to Series C instead of the standard Series D ones. I like it better and the numbers are more square.

Earlier shields included a narrow-style 1961 WV 68 shield and a US 21 shield, IIRC.

For a long time I used the "SR 50" error shield cropped out of this photo:

But eventually I decided I should be using something from my own state.

Had an old cruddy I-587 shield that I made and kept around to spite those that critiqued people's shield art however many years ago that was.  Lost it when the site had its big bad boo-boo.  I think Scott found the new one for me.

Yeah, it's a PNG export from the Signs by Jake artwork master. (Thus why it has the bolt holes.)
