There has been a 5-year environmental study implemented for ways to improve Peña Boulevard in the future.

May take another 10+ years before something actually happens on the connector freeway from I-70/I-225 to Denver International Airport / DIA, but it's a start...

I would like them to add numbers to the N. Gun Club Rd. and Jackson Gap Rd. interchanges and build 70W-to-PenaE and PenaW-to-70E free-flow ramps, so traffic doesn't have to go through the at-grade intersections to make those connections.

That would be nice as well, but I believe every inch of Peña Boulevard, including existing on and off ramps are within the borders of the City of Denver, which annexed that ROW when DIA was being built 30+ years ago.

None of it is maintained by CDOT, including plowing, either.  Denver would have to annex additional land or work woth CDOT on a compromise to add those I-70 ramps.

There's a new online open house up at https://denpenanepa.com through July 31, and there will be one in person on July 23.

A couple articles: Denver Gazette, Denverite

The two major roadway concepts are adding managed lanes and adding collector-distributor lanes.
How the lanes would be managed (toll, HOV, truck, bus) is to be determined, CD lanes would separate DIA traffic from local traffic, and the final recommendation could pull from both concepts.

There's more on transit in this open house than in the last one; that came up a lot in the news posts last time.

There needs to be a study about how demonic animal statues enhance otherwise boring urban freeway corridors.

Needs more anagrams. If they divided the site into subwindows, they could each be a denpenanepapane. One of them could be a project gorilla mascot, the denpenanepapaneape.

Tehehehe I submitted some comments 🤓

I pulled a FritzOwl and suggested it be upgraded to interstate standards with a 70-75mph design speed (keep current speed limits as-is), also recommended double-tracking A-Line in the long term.
I can drive 55 ONLY when it makes sense.

Me when I see toll lanes as one of their alternatives:

(Denver is very anti-adding GP lanes, so why not the road to DIA gets a toll lane, just like every other freeway expansion project around the region?)  :-D
