Errrm, ackchually, it's I-481 that was removed, with I-81 being moved onto it.

I wasn't aware Commander Steward was an official road enthusiast hobby title.  What page was this on in the forum user guide?

They had a bunch of extra money, but didn't have any upcoming projects to spend it on.  So they decided to tear something down instead.

It's the trucks using the lane, the driver doesn't make the decision.

You rule out the wrong lanes and see what's left after that. And then you don't get in that lane because it's left and you want right.

I keep wanting that to be an accurate description of how it actually works.  It almost is.

They read the sign as an advisory message to other motorists letting them know that some truckers use the right lane. Then they use whichever lane suits them at the time.

I suppose I could back and amend my answer to begin with "It doesn't matter" or "They aren't," but I thought that was clear enough from the rest of the context of what I said.

My original answer was something entirely different from the above, but I deleted it within 30 seconds to a minute after posting because I decided people would probably find it offensive (it played off the old saying from the 1980s about "left is right and right is wrong").

In West Virginia, the RIGHT LANE is wherever the lane where the Runaway Truck Ramp is located.

It's very simple:

1) Hold both hands up with palms pointed away and thumbs sticking out.
2) The hand that looks like the letter L is your left hand, so the other is your right.
3) Wish you had time to act on that new-found knowledge as your truck crashes because you took both hands off the steering wheel.

Any lane where passenger cars are not allowed. Trucks may include pickups, jeeps, SUVs and CUVs.

It's actually a reassurance sign, telling us that whatever lane trucks use is the right one.

It's actually meant to be a question, but MUTCD rules don't allow punctuation on signs. "Trucks use, right, Lane?" Lane is the name of the guy they were trying to get to agree with them.
