JPI's Harrisburg-Hershey area road meet, May 2026

Well everyone we are down to just over 2 weeks left, I am really hoping the weather is going to play in our favor as it has been a little cool the last several weeks and this past Saturday was rather wet, fingers crossed it won't be wet on 5/16, this coming Thursday I will be letting Gilligan's know our final head count, between Facebook, AA roads and people who are not on social media we are at 2 dozen but possibly more, so those of you not on Facebook but on here I just need a yeah or nah, thanks everyone!

13 days!! We are getting closer and closer! Thursday I stopped in at Gilligan's to finalize everything, they showed me where our dining room will be for the lunch, We are at 2 dozen attendees confirmed and I have feeling that could rival my 2018 roadmeet which was about 28. I am going to make a small change to the itinerary, mainly where we will stop along Derry St near the Eisenhower interchange, its on the right side of Derry St and is a small parking area for a former business now gone because of right of way acquisition. We will then drive on what was the original 4 lane by-pass US 230 that is now basically US 322 and turns into Eisenhower Blvd. Some other tips on Gilligan's, since we are going to be a large party the gratuity will be automatically added to our bills, as far as I know it will be separate checks and there is plenty of parking but we will still go over to the nearby Target shopping center to park our vehicles, match up who is riding with who and depart from there. I am keeping a close eye on the weather, it has been trending a little cool but fingers crossed it should warm up by May 16. Stephanie and I are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Sorry for the sudden change in plans, but I'm going to have to bow out; I'm starting a new job in Huntsville, AL next week and obviously can't travel 12 hours back up to Harrisburg.

Like I mentioned on your thread, best of luck to you! Cody Goodman lives in that area, I used to live 2 hours north of there and got to know Huntsville very well, it is an interesting area to explore, way less snow but watch for the severe weather outbreaks!

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure what to make of it except that this is my third time moving in five years. I'm glad that my job hunt is over, at least; I spent several months (and a failed part time job as a sub teacher) applying for jobs and praying for interviews to go my way. And now that it's over -- on the downside, I have to become a functioning adult and pay bills. On the upside, I can afford buying a heated bidet.

Happy Mothers Day everyone!  We are now days away, so far so good for the weather on Saturday, It was brought to my attention there may be a closure that would involve a slight detour on our tour in the area of the US 322\ Chambers Hill Rd\ Milroy Rd intersection, I will know for sure by this Friday since I live about 8 miles from there and anytime I need to get to Harrisburg or I-83 I pass through that area. Also I have created a Facebook event for a dinner Friday evening at Lancaster Brewing Co. just down the road from Gilligans, we will meet up for dinner at 6:30 and my wife Steph will be joining us too. Also Steph will be driving her mini van to help out with car pooling too. Should be a fun weekend coming up!

Yes it is finalized, if anything comes up last minute (like on Friday) I will let everyone one know at Gilligans Saturday afternoon.

5 more days to go! According to our local NBC affiliate (WGAL 8) we are looking at a high of 76 and partly sunny skies, lets hope this forecast holds and we will have nice weather. For those of you not on Facebook I do want give you my contact info, most of you have me cell# but just in case it is 615-519-3686 in case anyone needs to get in touch with me towards the end of the week, I think some of you will start traveling towards Harrisburg by Thursday and Friday.
