They built a musical road wrong - then did it again

In 1997 Honda worked with the city of Lancaster to make the first musical road in the United States - but whoever did the calculations on the grooves messed up.

Here's the Honda commercial, and a YouTube video going in depth about what went wrong (both are also in the above-linked article). Honestly, I can't imagine Honda letting this go to air, but maybe corporate was full of people with terrible pitch?

I've driven the current version along Ave G, and it isn't even as recognizable as the old version in the commercial. To really do it right would require a special machine that cuts the grooves in positions controlled by a computer as the machine rolls. Given that such a custom machine would be very expensive, and given the near pointlessness of it all, I doubt such a machine exists.

But using the laborious manual method, I wonder if anyone has ever created a road duet, so that the two sides of the lane play different notes, for the left wheels and the right wheels.

I would make a super-large detour if I could drive a road with Duo des fleurs grooved into it.

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

After watching the two YouTube videos, I can conclude that it was just another well thought-out idea that was poorly executed.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!
