Our bank's ATM doesn't have that option.  I checked because of this thread.  You punch in the amount, and it just spits the money out.  No choices.

Last withdrawal I did at an ATM, it had a choice of $100 and $20, and maybe $10. Since I was getting $100 to pay at a repair shop that didn't take checks, I chose the $100 bill. I'm not sure if it would have allowed you to choose how many of each if you were making a larger withdrawal.

I've never seen an ATM that let you do that.

I've seen multiple banks' ATMs that let you select what bills you want. There's one near us that offers at least $20s, $10s, $5s, and $1s. That's the only one I've ever seen that offers $5s and $1s and I often hit that particular ATM before I travel specifically to get some small bills to use for tips (hotel housekeeping, etc.). I don't remember whether that one offers anything larger than a $20. The ATM mentioned in the post you quoted is the only one I've seen that offers $100s; it dispenses $100s, $20s, and $10s (I generally hit that one before getting a haircut at the barbershop across the street from there so as to have $30 cash to cover the haircut and the tip).

The Citibank ATMs in downtown DC used to dispense $50s depending on how much cash you got, but they didn't give you a choice of denominations. I don't know what they offer now because I no longer work downtown and I no longer have an account at Citibank.

The Chase banks here only have $100 and $20 in the drive-up ATMs, but if you go inside, there is an ATM with $100, $20, $5 and $1. I've never seen one offering $50, $10 or $2.

The ATM at my credit union here in Nevada offers $100s and $20s, and you can choose between them.

The ATM at my credit union in Oklahoma historically had $20s and $5s, but you weren't allowed to choose between them. The only way to get $5s was to enter a withdrawal amount divisible by 5 but not 20.

I would be unreasonably happy if I ever found an ATM that allowed withdrawal of large quantities of $10s, as I greatly prefer them to $20s (although less so now that everything I use cash for seems to have doubled in price).
